Dont MS/Sony usually trumpet BF console sales a few days after BF? I honestly dont remember when they do.

FOR MS it's possible they're sticking to their "No hardware just MAU " mantra, although that was just for fiscal reports. So I think they can do a BF PR.

For Sony, though?

Risk is probably whichever goes first, if the other can counter with a higher number (or figure a way to spin their own numbers to look higher).

The expectation based off the trend would be MS does better, they have more pressure for a result here and most to gain in terms of positive press as most often Sony is winning.

That said I'm inclined to say that a lack of commentary both platform holders suggest it was close IMO.

Sony's recent announcement of another $299 bundle deal leads me to believe MS "won" either Black Friday or all of November.

This would be interesting if true but I'm thinking PS4 took November all the way. The continued deep discounts may be an attempt to grow as much customer base before the Nintendos next console arrives next year.

Black Friday could have gone either way. The InfoScout report and the lack of PR from Sony/MS suggests that it was extremely close. But I think Sony won the rest of the month hands down thanks to the Star Wars and Black Ops bundles.

What I get from people in retail at GAF is that MS supplied more 299 bundles than Sony overall which led MS to sell more consoles at certain stores, but the 299 NDC bundle sold faster. If Sony had supplied more NDC bundles at these stores, they would have easily won Black Friday.

What's interesting is how long the PS4 Uncharted Bundle has held the number one position in the U.S. Amazon hourly best sellers. As of today, the bundle is #22 in the Best Sellers for 2015 category (up from the #28th position from a few days ago).

Sony would have to be full of idiots to not offer some deal in December, especially since they have Battlefront bundle and the fever around Force Awakens is sky high. IMO this had nothing to do with MS.

Even without holiday pricedrop, they have incredible sales momentum. $350 Uncharted Collection bundle is still #1 on Amazon hourly charts.

Some exciting figures! UK, MCV official chart track data.

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/over-300-000-consoles-sold-during-black-friday-week-in-the-uk/0159898

From November 22 to November 28, 139,000 PS4, 134,000 XBO, 315,000 total consoles

Using the percentages in the article I get that both PS4/XBO should have been around 109k last year.

Suggests XBO may have a shot at winning November USA (simply because this gen USA has been a bit stronger relatively for XBO than UK), but should be close, could go either way.

BF could go either way, but PS4 cleaned up outside of BF in the US. Amazon shows a pretty clear win for the PS4. It's the two bundles (BF & COD) that had months of pre-orders that will apply to November that will push the PS4 to a win IMO. I'm guessing by 100k-200k.

Nov Amazon
#1 PS4 Uncharted (physical)
#11 XB1 Gears
#15 PS4 SW:BF
#27 PS4 COD
#31 PS4 Uncharted (digital)

#32 XB1 Holiday
#35 XB1 Fallout

#50 PS4 SW:BF SE

I guess it is possible someone like Walmart skews the numbers, but I'm not putting my money on that.

Granted Microsoft has relatively stronger sales within the US when compared to other territories... however, I'm more inclined to say, Sony (PS4) has/will dominate US sales for the rest of this generation. Two consecutive years of NPD PR wins for Sony suggest Microsoft stronghold on the US, was never set in stone (as Wii proved to Sony/MS during the previous generation). The USA is a toss

Anyhow, November is pretty much a Sony PR win and more than likely December as well. I'm also willing to bet, Sony takes November by a huge margin (200-250k).

Every month since launch is a Sony PR win.

It becomes obvious when we look at all the discussions about sales across the internet, they keeps moving by abstracting more and more data. It used to be "MS is winning if we ignore all countries except the one where MS is doing fine". Then it was "if we also ignore all months where it didn't"... now it's in the last corner with "it's not winning but it's close in those two months, in those two countries".
