The frequent monthly updates are already proof to that point. And reading the comments in every thread concerning either companies updates would highlight that MS are being seen in much higher regard than Sony is on that front.
Really? Sony has been a bit slow but they've improved immensely and released several very nice updates. The frequent monthly updates are already proof to that point. One thing Sony hasn't needed to do was work for its user base, IMO even if PS4 was still stuck on firmware 1.00 and did nothing since launch it would still fair better in the eyes of consumer as being the superior product.
I dont understand how Gaikai helps with the PS4-Vita remote play btw. The game is processed on the PS4 you own. How does Gaikai's servers help? Wouldnt that actually add extra lag as it needs to send information to those ervers and then back to the Vita??Nah... Sony worked hard for its user base throughout PS4 development. I remember it took them 5 years. Remember Cerny mentioned they had to talk to all the big developers to get buy-in and feedback for PS4 ? They also developed Vita during the same timeframe, and acquired Gaikai to enhance RemotePlay. Development tools was also pretty advanced by the time PS4 launched. Someone had to code that SDK up. So a lot was happening.
We are still in the early adopter phase. They have to keep the momentum going.

Heh. I agree. I don't mean to take anything away from their hard work. Sony did a good thing keeping their customer base and trying to grow it. Microsoft fractured theirs and PS4 became a quick default for those not interested in X1 which is what I was implying originally.Nah... Sony worked hard for its user base throughout PS4 development. But.....why???Amazon is now giving away two free games with 399 PS4, (The Last of Us Remastered, and then one of your choice from Destiny, NBA 2K15, Far Cry 4, and Little Big Planet 3) and it's still lagging behind AC Unity Xbox. I am pretty surprised.
Alternatively they have 399 PS4 with one free game (same choices as above) and this ~$50 headset bundled http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-S...dset-4/dp/B00NE5D4SS/ref=bndlTitle_B00NE5D4SS

That depends on your primary reason for buying the box. If it was games then PS4 was solid out of the gate and is still solid.
hmmm....perhaps that should explain why it didnt work when I was away from home. Gaikai probably works for certain regions onlyThat depends on your primary reason for buying the box. If it was games then PS4 was solid out of the gate and is still solid. If it's media then the PS4 has a lot of catching up to do. But unlike PS3, Sony have never pushed PS4 as a media device.
At the moment your Vita needs to connect to your PS4 which is ok if you're at home or relatively close by (e.g. accessing from work over the internet) but if you're far away (in internet terms) or can't connect to your PS4 over the internet then instead of connecting to your PS4 you'll connect to Gaikai which knows which games you own and has access to all your cloud saves.
Why does a $50 cheaper bundle being slightly ahead surprise anyone? I know it is Unity, but I suspect most people don't know how bad it is.

Unity is actually fun and while its not the best experience it works well enough on the xbox one , its the ps4 version that is fubar !
But now with the recent patch the game plays well. I also think if you have the assasians creed bundle you got another free game from ubisoft .
I don't consider that remarkable. We all know there's lots more to buying a console than just power. XBLive including one's existing friends. MS exclusives. Media services. Even just brand name, something which pretty much was the only justification for people buying a far more pricey console last gen in the beginning. Plenty of reasons to choose one over the other for some folk.
The only point of importance, and one we could probably never ascertain, is whether those $50 cheaper XB1 bundle buyers are buying it instead of a PS4, or are they people who were always going to buy an XB1 and now it's offering just the right price value? If the latter, PS4's will shift more when the value proposition improves (lower price tag).
