Numbers are coming in... Xbox One sold 1.2M in the US, WiiU ~240k and PS4 ~800k/900k. Xbox One Unity bundles have sold slightly less that the total of PS4s for November..

Life to Date's (rough)

Shinra-bansho's angles for the white chart:

81, 130, 149 which matches LTD for Xbox One and PS4

XBox One LTD is 5 million (3.8 + 1.2 million in November).

This means PS4 LTD is ~5.7 which matches the estimates we have (4.9 + 0.8 in November).

Also means Wii U is ~3.1 million LTD in NPD.

Aren't the numbers coming for the next two weeks just as important as the ones from the last month? Has everyone bought their Christmas presents in the USA already?
I haven't even started to look for whatever I'm going to give to my family!

I thought these high-season win/lose war results would have come in January.

Ah. Thanks BRiT. Makes a lot more sense now. Given this gap, if MS is able to do a repeat performance for December then it has a good chance at overtaking PS4 in the US next year. Sony may have reason to worry now.

Also, only way I know of to buy dlc and season passes without a credit card. Also movie rentals and other digital media. Good as a gift certificate. So many reasons to buy them.

CBOAT from GAF wrote that difference between Xbone and PS4 is very small.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=142896430&postcount=33

CBOAT lied.

If what CBOAT said is true this definitely a Sony win in all but name.

It's not.

PS4 must have won BF by some big margin. Suprising. Also shows Amazon is only few percent of the market

Yeah this wasnt good with the deals Xbox had for the whole month and BF

Sony didn't.

CBOAT is banned from GAF from posting that lie!.

Doesn't seem to fit right either. Are they that close for Life to Date? Shouldn't WiiU be a bigger piece? YTD may actually be more reflective.

If you click on the chart in the original post it takes you to a full page with "LTD" and has been confirmed to be LTD. And no, WiiU should not be a bigger piece. This is all US sales, thats why WiiU looks off.

Ah right-o!

Even though it looks like a small degree ~20, that can represent any large value, in this case GAF is saying ~700K. That 400K really let Xbox come back in. If Amazon is being used as an indicator again for December, it looks to be chopping that lead some more.

I'd say this is a major win for Microsoft, their number is very strong. Xbox has often done great during the holidays, so it's not a huge surprise. It looks like their aggressive strategy in lowering the barrier of entry vs Sony's tiny yellow wallet (insert the old twisted smiley) is starting to make a difference. Software seems to be coming along better these days as well.

I love the gaf thread so many sony fans happy with the 7-10k and then boom a rug pulled out from under them. Hilarious . Everyone should be happy with this. If MS wasn't able to move the needle than the ps4 would start at $400 for a long time. Now if MS continues with this momentum or even gains more they will be forced to cut the price.

I imagine we will see the xbox one stay at $350 however until next holiday. I bet we get an evolve bundle in Feb to replace the Creed bundle we have now although with how poorly that's selling ubi soft might want them to keep it bundled. Getting $15 or so per xbox one sold is better than $0

One of the interesting things I see posted on that site is that MS is loosing money at the $350 mark. I'm not sure why they are assuming that. The xbox one is cheaper than the ps4 to produce. MS is pretty close to breaking even at that price and soon they might actually start making money at that price point.

Huh, everyone at GAF expected the XB1 to outsell the PS4 in November.

And the BOM of the XB1 without Kinect was reportedly $396 last year. On BF, they were selling them for $330 with 2 free games. Sure they were digital versions, but I'm sure MS didn't get them for free. My guess is they were selling them at a loss.

This is a small victory for MS IMO. While they outsold Sony in the US and UK, they had to be incredibly aggressive with month long promotions, while Sony played it cool only offering limited bundles on BF. And even then, they were only able to cut the deficit by a somewhat small amount in the US, and were probably still outsold worldwide. That's probably why they didn't release a PR statement after BF like they usually do... they were probably expecting to outsell the PS4 by more.

So Xbox One gain 400k last month on PS4 and can gain 400k, lets say, if things go well for them, this month. In that event, Sony's US lead will be down to ~300k.

Then we'll see how it goes after that, as One certainly had a pretty poor first 10 months of 2014, and one wonders are they really going to go back to 399 and no games??

Now they've started this drug, it's going to be hard to quit.

Wii U sales, what, up 10%? I guess it's a survivable system. Vita taught us a system apparently does not need to sell very much at all to stay on the market. Even so has to be disappointing for Nintendo, as at least I expected, their big software titles did little (and haven't since Gamecube).

For software, seems Unity bombed, DA:I bombed. MCC did not do as well as I anticipated.

I thought Xbone's November might be 2nd and near a record...not even close. Best Novembers I have:

Nov 08 Wii 2.04 million
Nov 11 360 1.7 million
Nov 10 X360 1.37 million
Nov 02 PS2 1.32 million
Nov 10 Wii 1.27 million
Nov 09 Wii 1.26 million
Nov 12 360 1.26 million
Nov 14 Xbox One 1.2-1.24 million (estimated)

PS2 surprisingly did not have a lot of huge Novembers.

I guess you could say X1's November was within range (within 200k) of all but a couple of those Novembers.
