Does the PS3 have an issue with realtime global shadows? I'm just curious because this seems to mimic the results of GTAIV/RDR.
EDIT: I can't believe it. (Supposed) resolution is exactly the same as RDR:
RDR = 1152x640 = 737,280 pixels
C2 = 1024x720 = 737,280 pixels
Nothing, apparently . Just thought there might've been there a connection there, but I guess that's not the case.Just Cause 2 - 1280x720
Far Cry 2 - 1274x692
What shadows have to do with resolution? It's probably more memory related.
PS3 version looks stretched horizontaly, probably by those 128 lines, SMH.
Resolution isn't actually the problem here :/PS3 version looks horrible from those direct feed shots, the resolution is simply epic fail. What happened to the treating PS3 version like a first class citizen Cevat? Was hoping at least one of the console version is true 1280 x 720.
So what happened to Crytek saying they will hit a graphical ceiling on PS3? Which they said back last year.Good lord, It's like 2007 all over again.

The game has to be very close to worst performing game ever on PS3.Resolution isn't actually the problem here :/

That has to be exaggeration, performance looks okay here:
Maybe some drops around water splashes...seemingly no obvious screen tear too.
Shouldn't ps3 version be 704p ?
When it comes to the difference between the versions several sites already condemned the PlayStation 3 version as being the worst of the three. And it is true. Although I personally think that the difference between the console editions are smaller than those expressed by, amongst others, Digital Foundry. The PC version of Crysis 2 is entirely superior to the Xbox 360 - and PlayStation 3 game, as evident. PC game looks several times better with higher resolution, and clearly more advanced lighting and shadows much snazzier.
I dunno certainly feels that way.But thats not only problem, it has nothing that stands above other games,everything is average or below.
Would not say the lighting is average.
And alot of folks are over reacting on different forums because of the pc and ps 3 builds. Hell some even say the pc build loooks way worse then crysis on the same setting. Hope that crytek/Ea learned something about how to handle PR.
Heh, I wonder if they really think it's worth it to put out statements like these that generate a small bit of hype during development, but then upon release they get huge backlash and accusations of lies when it ends up false? I guess it does the world a small bit of good if it means less and less people will believe PR.
It's a shame, I really feel this will be a quality release in the gameplay department, and it's clear the amount of effort that's been spent in pushing this tech onto consoles, but for it to be let down (cancelling pre-orders, damage to Crytek's image) by EA and spokespeople running their mouth.
