[360, PS3] BF:BC2 and BF 1943 online

Not really as I have been playing it a variety of ways. Some of the posters in this very thread expressed the same issues while in our party game.

Would anyone argue that the controls are as snappy/clean and visual feedback as other top notch shooters? As noted in our online time we all pretty much preferred BF2 and other modern shooters to how this feels. Definitely lacks some lethality. And it could be this simple: for all the IW bashing and feeding the fire by DICE, the end result has been some of the "hopes" PC gamers put on BC2 were dashed by the lack of most of the same tools and the facts are the facts: even dedicated servers can, and do, have lag. BF1943 was one of the worst rollouts of a game I have ever seen--EVER--with their constant issues. And while logging into servers for the demo is better than the 43 release issues with lag, team balancing, squad malfunctions (cannot join a game/squad has happened a number of times) and so forth persist. All that to say that just because they are rolling out dedicated servers doesn't translate into a great ping for every member. It may be that I am not getting very good pings to the EA servers and I am not making much contact, hence the feedback issue.

I know, I know, I killed someones kitten and I can hear the gnashing of teeth! :p

I would think it was just me, but others I have played with from B3D have expressed similar concerns.

I've gotta say, the shooting feels great now that I've got a handle on how to fire with each of the guns. Not sure what is lacking in terms of visual feedback. You get a marker if you hit and you get score messages if you get a kill or an assist etc. So far, this is probably my favourite shooter besides COD, but the team play elements are far superior, and you have the insane destructible environments. The only thing I'd say I like better about Battlefield 2, is the huge maps with 64 players, but that somewhat of a small thing for me since this game is better in pretty much every other way.

Personally, I think the shooting feels very visceral and satisfying. If you're having finding any enemies, then just look in the general areas the enemies will come from and spam the "spot" button as somebody mentioned earlier. That is especially useful when you're in a vehicle or if you're looking for snipers.

What really annoys me about the spotting is that nobody else seems to use it/know about it.

I'm really relying a lot on spotting and I rack up a lot of points for it and for finding enemies to kill. Although I really wonder if the image quality is good enough for a Hardcore mode (no spotting). You need crispness to see enemies and these guys blend well, too well. especially in the trees on 360. MW2 an CoD WaW were excellent in HC mode because shadows was the most devious place to miss an enemy... curious to see how that works out here

If they're in foliage, it's probably impossible to spot them if you don't have a sniper rifle.

Two great recon moments today:
1) Headshotted the pilot of a blackhawk with my M24, first attempt.
2) Headshot kill on a medic walking and firing.... and up pops double kill. 250pts total from that one bullet. Heh

I was playing with my friend, and not long after the chopper (which he also tried to kill), I made the comment "It would be great if I could kill one of those guys parachuting in" as we were defending the first base. I took a shot at one, missed by a fair bit. 1.5 seconds later, he snipes a guy out of the air. :devilish:

Did a lot of work on vehicles with C4, too.

Incredible experience, even if my team is losing.

Has anyone seen the video on youtube where a player jumps off from one Helicopter to another and gets in ! Ala James Bond :D !
Its a nice vid. i remember watching stunt videos from BF 2 ! Shows the community is lapping up BF:BC 2 too  !

I think it plays very much like bf:bc but with some minor improvements to the weapon feel etc.

Why is there no prone position? It's so irritating.... oh well.

That video is great by the way, was useful to watch! It should be included with the game lol.

If you're in Canada, EB Games has a promotion where you can trade in 2 games and get Bad Company 2 for $20. Not sure about USA.

demo ends tonight (25th) so we wait a week for full release... Can not wait to unlock the new weapons

good idea to limit it considering the demo of BC1 was above the full release on LIVE more weeks than not since it was so fun to play.

I have about 48 hours into this demo

EA maintenance will take place tomorrow (25th) from midday CET/11am GMT/3am PST for 2 hours. This'll affect most DICE games and end the demo
