Just because Mesh nodes extension is incomplete doesn't mean that Work Graph by themselves are incomplete. You can already download existing samples and the supported drivers will run them just fine ...Mesh Nodes is the significant part of Work Graphs. It's still beta, the whole thing is.
You classify a game involving a multi-year development cycle with OVER 400 CREDITS just AA ?!Hellblade 2 is not AAA, it's AA and a corridor one as well, with limited environment/physics complexity.
Do you have any other names besides some indie puzzle game to back up your statement ?It's not very rarely, several devs are deploying games with it already.
I wonder how your world will come crashing down when reviewers are forced to include UE5-based killer apps wo/ any HW ray tracing like STALKER 2, the next Tomb Raider/CD Projekt RED games ...We are not talking average here, this is a high end forum for cutting edge graphics and next gen technologies, which is what we are discussing, average is right across the street and it's called the Youtube comment section.
We CAN have a useful discussion if you just stop ignoring data points that don't fit your narrative. End of story ...Can you really have a useful discussion without saying how they will do it? Otherwise it’s just wishful thinking.
@Bold I got a hold that they've temporarily halted the development of their new feature for hardware lumen ...Can’t wait. You seem to be pinning all your hopes on UE5 proving that RT is a waste of time. That’s a weird take but good luck with that. The irony is that Epic is continuously improving RT support and performance in their engine. I don’t see how that gels with your view that Epic is leading the charge to undermine RT adoption in the industry.
Besides consoles aren’t targeting only UE5 games. What about all the other game engines that are adopting RT? Will they also follow AMD into this brave new world? Would be nice to see a demo or two before getting too excited about that.
It's like Andrew stated, if deformable geometry doesn't play well with Nanite then it is even more so the case for RT. AMD are looking to completely cut the chord for RT in UE by looking to crowd it out with other graphical features in development like skinned virtual geometry and substrate. I don't know why so many here are in refusal to look at the facts when our resident rendering expert here has espoused that *certain feature combinations should not exist* lest you want to destroy your performance ... (even on the highest end systems too)
As for the other engines, it's hard to say when many of their users keep intentionally supporting and releasing content for last generation systems ...
