how accurate is this.

Q. Can I use my computer monitor as my display for the Xbox 360?

A. Yes, depending on the type of monitor you have. And you will likely be able to play games in high definition too. The Xbox 360 supports the following resolutions when using the VGA AV connector: 640×480, 848×480, 1024×768, 1280×720, 1280×768, 1280×1024, and 1360×768. In order to use your monitor you will most likely need to purchase the Xbox 360 VGA HD Cable and connect it to your monitor’s VGA port. If you don’t have a free VGA port on your monitor, you will either need to switch back and forth or purchase a VGA switcher.

if i have a 20in monitor which supports 20xx by 10xx resolution does that mean i can only view xbox360 in 1360x768 max resolution and no higher?

The VGA cable is outputing progressive scan signals, the only higher resolution signal the 360 supports is 1080i through component; which athough that is 1920x1080 pixels, being interlaced, it is actually less bandwidth than 1360x768 progressive. Regardless, unless your display doesn't handle scaling well there is really no point in running the 360 over 720p as no games render at anything higher than that regardless of what you have the 360 set to output.

so unless a game is 1080i it wont run at that resolution and will stay at 720p.

that doesnt seem like next gen, in terms of picture quality and features [not just pure power] how do current graphics cards compar to xenos, i read that it is close to being dx10 in features but we wont realy see that untill game companies realy know the in's and out's of xenos.

If you set the 360 to 1080i, other than for DVD playback, it will always output 1080i. Output resolution and rendering resolution are not ependent on eachother as the 360 has a built in scaler.

As for how Xenos compares to PC hardware, there are plenty of threads in this forum on that subject already as well as some great articles you can find on the main site.
