It's bad that they sold 100% less 360's compared to the Xbox at the same period of time. I wonder if MS will lose focus in Japan and stop caring after the PS3 and Revolution are released in Japan?

Don't you mean 50% less? ;) 100% would entail no 360s moved from the shelves.

NO. Hold on a minute... *thinking*

50% less would mean they would have sold, ugh I think you are right. No, I know you are right. I was thinking the oppisite (i.e. increases)

Well, comparing PS2's lifetime sales with Xbox 360's lifetime sales in Japan, you basically have a rounding error. And I always round down to zero. :D

In all seriousness, this downward trend is a bad omen. Does Xbox Live Arcade have any mindshare in Japan? If I were Microsoft, I would hit that hard, given the Japanese public's love affair with portable gaming. (I'm making a leap that the love affair is with simple games, not their portable aspect.)

Simple games surely, but don't underestimate the portable aspect of it.

MS needs to repackage X360 perhaps with HDDVD or Blu-Ray but integrates that external Power Supply, redesign the case, just for the sake of being different from current one. Remove the MS and Xbox badge from the console and game, partner a Japanese company maybe Toshiba and sell it under Toshiba with a different name. Don't ever use Xbox brand name again.

I suspect the original Xbox could get support by SEGA fans at the launch day. These days things are different...

Neato, the first footage of Blue Dragon that I saw.

What I don't understand is, at the end, why do they have the slogan "Jump in" in english? Should they not use something more suited to the Japanese, and have it in the Japanese language? :???:

Direct translation probably wouldn't work too well, and a proper translation could have been...long.

Katakana is just fine. :D

Oh, don't worry about that, interspersing a few engrish words is cool among the japanese youth.

The slogan isn't a big deal it's the rest of the stuff that needs to be fully understood by the people they are advertising to.
