What are you playing now? (console edition) [2011 - 2017]

Wipeout HD Fury, haven´t touched the series since PS1.

Meh. I'm jealous. This is the one game I really miss on the PS4. And because I changed PSN accounts, I'm kinda itching to do platinum all over again... the one trophy I cared about.

How do you find Tomb Raider? Does it hold interest?
Take a punt on TR. It's a great game and was the surprise of 2013 for me. The only game I rated higher last year was The Last of Us.

I'm looking forward to re-starting it this weekend :)

I am getting it :) , tomorrow or day after. My local stores don't have it yet. Just wanted to know what ppl think about it. And Since Boardbonobo shares my love for Warframe, just want to know what he thinks about this one.

TR was one of the great games of the last generation and the atmosphere is complete on the update. The enhanced frame rate and general upgrade to the graphical fidelity only serves to make the game feel far more immediate and intense.

It was always worth playing again which I fully intended to do with my PS3 version, the PS4 is just leagues ahead and makes it a far more pleasurable experience.

I've maxed my Cronus and Excalibur out in Warframe. Building the Oberon at the moment, I've also upgraded my rifle to a Karack. It makes life so much easier!

I am playing the great Arkham City for the first time just after having finished the excellent Arkham Asylum. For me those Batman games are the best since "Batman", NES version.

My digital copy of Rayman Legends keeps erasing my save file when I start the game. I still didn't find a solution yet (PS3). Even cloud save copies don't work cause the game seems to erase the save file almost each time it starts.

I already tried to delete and re-download the game once.

Too bad because I would very much like to finish this game and not always the same first levels. Reminds me good old 80s games when there was no saving system.

Outlast ... which isn't really doing it for me. I miss horror games with some actual mechanics. As effective and creepy as the first 10 to 20 minutes of the game may have been, scavenging the environments for puzzle items whilst being chased by slight variations of the same goddamn freak gets old fairly quickly. It's all rather one-note and really more frustrating than scary. That said, I thought the Slendermens and Amnesias of this world were similarly boring. None of these modern takes on haunted houses have a patch on classics like Haunting Ground, Clocktower or Project Zero. Why? Because while all of these featured protagonists that were more or less powerless as well (okay, maybe not so much in Project Zero's case), they all had at least a modicum of mechanical depth to bolster their primary trick.

Also trying out Terraria and Spelunky on the Vita. I don't get the appeal of either one of these neither. Sure, the mechanics in Spelunky are tight. That doesn't make the pitiful whip attack or the odd, momentum-based jumping any more exciting though. I take a Rayman over this any day of the week.

I'm hoping the new Strider game will fill my nostalgia needs. Without feeling utterly archaic that is.

Bioshock Infinite

Well I know I was one of the very few who bitched about not being able to get into the first Bioshock. But DAMN!! I tried Bioshock Infinite as it was free on PS+ (I'm a cheap date, what can I say...) and I basically didn't stop playing until I saw the end credits, in a couple of days of playing.

What a gem. Absolutely beautiful creation. It's one of those I'd play again if they decided to re-release it on next gen with eye candy turned to max.

Great, magical game.

I felt myself surprised by the lack of 'grinding' - or what I'd consider the frustrating and boring parts in some (or most) games where I'm just sitting there waiting for the section to just end. The first Bio would be one of those.
The whole experience just flowed perfectly and smoothly and it felt like it lasted a couple of hours - when in reality I was playing for around 12-15 hours or more. And I explored a fair bit to find items etc, so that makes it even the more surprising.

I thought it dragged a little in the middle section, but regardless of that - and ludonarrative dissonance be damned - it was one of my personal highlights of 2013 as well.

I'm playing through Infinite as well at the moment. To a certain extent I'm a bit disappointed that everything seems so similar to the previous Bioshock's in execution - vigors, salts, vending machines, etc. I also found it too bloody difficult on hard so had to go back down to Medium. The Elizabeth character is great fun though.

Well yes. The plot was extremely weird towards the end. I actually had my own theory of what had been going on just before the ending but it proved to be way off. Still, very engaging.

Since some of you enjoyed bioshock series, perhaps being console gamers you are not aware of it's parent games System Shock 1 + 2

Aware but unfortunately never played. And right now the last century graphics would give me eye cancer so I guess it's my loss unless they plan remakes.

Enjoying the series is pushing it. I stopped playing the first Bioshock halfway through because I was bored. Stupid plumbing mini-game. Also hated the combat.

Having a hard time making it through Bioshock Infinite.

Seems to accentuate the worst elements of the Unreal Engine (total lack of environmental interactivity) and the fact that the story is totally at odds with the searching for money / healthpacks game design. I knew something was wrong when an entire level (on the PS3) consisted of a single room with a single door and zero gameplay options other than hitting a button to open the door to get to the next loading screen.

Dishonoured was the game that this one wanted to be I think.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes (PS4)

After about 25 hours I've only completed around 40% of all the challenges in this game. And playing it and being to zip around Lego New York makes me really crave Infamous Second Son because the game does a fantastic job of making you feel epicly powerful!
