Trailer from Naughty Dog

I have a nice job ;-)

One of the most impressive aspects of the game is the animation. From the beginning, the game had awesome animation. Now it looks like... well, REAL

Other titles. There is a "nice" game in Cambridge....

I hope that the water reacts in a credible way when the protagonist is within it or walk in it :D

Impressive? What are you talking about? It looks nice but, the environments are average, so is the lighting and it even has more fog than Turok.

Any chance http://www.naturalmotion.com picked up a new licensee or is this work being done from the ground up inhouse?
From looking at the pricing scheme on their website it looks like a nobrainer to add to any AAA title.

Side question - why the heck has this tech not been added to Madden yet?

Honestly that's not necessary.

I'd take a look around and try to find a mpg of the trailer. The biggest draw for me was the animation of the game. Graphically the main character wasn't too impressive but the environment looked pretty good. Tough to say from the video that I saw but I would place it somewhere between Farcry and Crysis.

How the actual game turns out will be interesting given the comments by Axsider as it sounds like they are making improvements on the main charcter, water fx, and animation.

If you're not allowed/can't answer his question except with rolling your eyes and smiling (as you did for his previous post), then... really, what was the point?

I think the game looks great, and part of that is the animation, part of it is the setting (which is also part of what makes Farcry/Crysis appealing, for me), the large amount of vegetation, and the overall sense of "this is a jungle, not just a rectangular box with textures on it."

Nevertheless, I'd like to hear what about it impresses developers.

Who's this Axsider guy? Is he a developer? or just some ****** trying to act to act like he knows stuff (which wouldn't be something new)

The animation was great no doubt. But was it in-game animation? or cutscene animation? We know that that makes a lot of difference.

Regarding the environments, in the video the vegetation looks fine but in this shots it seems too flat, pointy edges, the lighting makes the grass look radioactive... It's not like it's rendering thousands of enemies or a huge environment. I would expect better given that much fog and that specific developer.

Again, it looks good, but nothing mindblowing.

Agreed, given that we have an "insider" though who is suggesting the in-game animation is even better, it has my attention.

Agreed, environment isn't super spectacular but a lot of those complaints can be fixed pretty easy. I wouldn't say it's the best I've seen but it is nice. Some may be "overreacting" because it's one of the only games announced on ps3 that has this type of environment, others maybe because of the developer and how Sony may be positioning the title.

We'll see.

FYI - from what I've seen of Turok it also has a promising jungle environment.

of course nothing mindblowing in 8 months screens :D

Another issue I think is the fog and the fact that as you look further in, it seems like there is potential for nasty pop-up or bad geometry LOD. I think it would be best to wait for a video.

Axsider, could you please explain how you've managed to acquire such information? Not that I disbelieve you.

Umm he is a ****** making things up, that's how. It's more than alright to disbelieve him...
Not that it's hard to predict this game will look good based on what we've seen...
The guy is a NOBODY a fake insider who get's pleasure from lying to people.

I had this in my pictures folder
