Love the shadow the trees cast on the waterfalls.

The game looks great and most B3ders seem to agree. However, I am interested in whether anyone has heard more about the gameplay mechanics. The last EGM had a quick mention about Drake having purposely clumsy actions to give a more realistic feel. They (the inerviewees) didn't mention whether fear would play a part in Drakes moves but that would be cool.

What would be awesome is if the characters actions were directly related to the player controlling him. Just thinking outloud here but if it were possibly to judge a "newbie" player (perhaps time based?) and have the on screen character respond likewise (poor aim, slips when attempting to grab a ledge, gets injured often from attempting to evade, etc) vs a sharp/seasoned player (basically the character turns into a "James Bond" type)

How the game could determine the player type is a bit of a questionmark and the only thing I can think of is time based from goal to goal.

;) I love the ferns by Drake...the have real body to em.
Things should improve quite a bit too. In one of the vids there's an interview going on, and skeletoned foliage that reacts to character movements are set to make an appearance, as are footprints and bullet damage (presumably just to rocks, and not hacking down foliage). Should get to look a lot more lush.

I'd like to see some fauna in there though. It'd be nice to have spiders, snakes, monkeys, flying bugs, etc. moving around to give the jungle life. Otherwise it looks dead, like all game situations. Probably won't happen as resources need to be spent elsewhere, but it'd be an area games could progress.

Awesome.

This game sounds like it's really coming together and as others mentioned, reminds me of a modern "Flashback". Sucks I won't be able to play it aside from a buddy's house but this will be on my must-buy list when ps3 hit's $200 in a couple years.

Uncharted has destructable environment, no ?

I'll be disappointed if ND won't add wild life into the jungle i certainly don't expect tigers, monkeys or crocodiles but I do hope to see on occasions some lizards, spiders, snakes, fish and small birds in the game.

Yuh that would be cool. You can see birds in the gameplay...and insects flying around. :)

They haven't yet put destructable in , but Well's comments that it's going in.

Really if they are doing deformable plantlife they can simulate the same without actually showing much. Just have the lower level plants move in a trail and cue the audio to corrospond with a like sound (sounds). Little flys and butterflys and lizards etc would really add to the env though and help it to come to life. Perhaps even load them when the player is in a nonaction sequence or area as when your trying to dodge bullets you're not too concerned with wildlife. :D

That's a damn great idea actually, though I’d still would love to have some lizards or snakes and the ability to throw them at your enemy ala mgs 3 :devilish:

and yeah Mr brown I just noticed those birds, thank you

Consoles never have enough RAM to do the atmospherics stuff. When a new gen comes along with more RAM, CPU and GPU, they're going to use most of those resources for the main characters and other details.

Anyways, Drake might be Indiana Jones without the bullwhip.

Speaking of which, where are the previews of that game? It's suppose to be using physics in a bigger way than most games.

To expand on the exploration/gameplay aspects, I liked what Ico did. It would be cool if Drake had to trigger some things (like that giant rolling ball in Raiders of the Lost Ark) and once done, the environment has changed that some things can't be undone or you can't go back (the game will need save points ;)).

I hadn't really looked at the trailers linked in this thread.

But did download the HD trailer from the Playsation Store.

Really nice and it does sound like a Indiana Jones kind of plot.

Would be cool if the scenes on the boat and plane were controllable but they're probably cut scenes to advance the story.
