Trailer from Naughty Dog

Yes, but can the mighy cell emulate the mysterious black smoke cloud???

Should be a heck of a game and a special mention also for the latest shots for HS. Bravo guys! PS3 devs are really starting to pick up steam and should provide two stellar examples of AAA software this year. (hopefully this year)

but particle effects are things that must be render by rsx or i don't know something ?

So new pictures in EGM. Showing a flooded plane (?) and drake wading through it. WOW at the water and lighting. Very impressive.

if those heads are ingame, it will surpass crysis.

It's naughty dog so it's possible.

Although it does seem like overkill as most of the screenshots are some distance away from the characters so that amount of detail is unnecessary in my opinion.

Cutscenes!

Jak 2/3 have way better models and even better shadows in cutscenes. Wouldnt be surprised if thats the case with their next game too. But aside from the hair they look too good for realtime IMHO

It is cg rendering. From an interview of Richard diamant(Naughty Dog):

Clearly the same model, so the CG was the source. The in-game isn't too shabby, but without similar lighting to compare, it's hard to judge. The skin shading doesn't look as good, and of course the texture fidelity isn't going to be there. The eyes are the weakest point of the in-game model.

What's with the passion in these forums for Naughty Dog:?:
I am truly ignorant of why they deserve the respect they're given. I see them as interchangable with Insomniac in games and their "2nd" Party relationships. Is it that they have innovated in the past, where only experts are aware of their machinations? I think ND, and think Crash Bandicoot and Jak...that's it.

Either way, Drake looks great from the screenshots.

Do some research on Naughty Dog.

Do some research on Naughty Dog.

Really? Research eh?;)
Yes I've done some research and am aware of how they were created, how motivated they are and how deeply Sony backs them. There is definitely more to read just for the sake of my own curiosity. That said, I sense a near reverence for ND, from some of the Devs on this forum have great respect for them. On a surface level I wonder if this is more admiration of technical prowess or more enjoyment of ND products.

I only think of Unreal when I think of Epic too, I guess they don't deserve the respect they get either.

Well they are some of the best in the business...get the best out of the Sony systems...and they are pretty well known for their animation.

And AI.

I would think a bit of both, but more of the former. What they accomplished on both the PSone and PS2 is quite impressive - especially on the latter with the Jak series where they not only built a great looking game, but also demonstrated how a game on that scale is possible with no loading while being completely seamless.

The Jak series aren't my favorite games, but I do have a huge amount of respect towards their technical achievements and ability on any challenging hardware.
