These are the levels I've hearted.

Cthulian Scream.
Hollow Bastion.
GP Odd Mine of Ridiculous.
GAF- Lemming Blox.
Batman - Mission Arkham.
God of War - demon Skull
Metal Gear Solid: Return to Shadow Moses.
World of Colour.

Parodie-ing existing games seems popular.

Not mine? :( Sigh. Mines been hearted 700 times.

I would like to see a simple filter system on the search - also I'd like an automatic "% of players hearted this level" that you could search on - so I'd basically search for anything that 10% or more of players "hearted" filering out the not so popular levels.

I've been playing online co-op with a friend that lives a couple of minutes away at the same with a friend that was visiting me, ie we where 3 players, 2 from my ps3 and 1 somewhere in the same city.
It worked just fine, but if other people tried to join us, then it was hit and miss if there was lag.

I hope they find another way to represent user made levels, since I find it a bit messy going through the current setup to find levels that might be interesting.

Online works when there's no lag. WIth lag, it's pretty bad...but so is any game. The online just needs to be more stable. Some people I can play with, some people I can't. In general I think Shifty and I are quite happy together...we just had an odd possession :D

The ability for users to change a level and the collaborative tools (e.g., taking control of another player's SackBoy, co-op gameplay) are what makes me think LBP can be a great learning system.

After release, MM will add co-op building. I really think MM should pay extra attention to distant learning (for kids, middle school teens, gamers, etc...). It will help bring in a new audience.

How can we find levels by users? Is there a textbox search I've haven't noticed anywhere? So far I've only found 'most popular' and 'sarch by tags'. Apaprently there were a thousand submissions within the first day of the Beta, but I'm not seeing them all! I haven't been able to find Quaz51's stuff either.

Go to search and press square, then type what you want to find. If you want to play level, search for cornsnake, or uncharted river of barrels.

I've noticed that the Search doesn't always work. I couldn't find Danalys's FFVIII level until this morning, earlier searches came up empty. The only way I was able to find Quaz's other levels was by linking from his Calculator level.. "More from this user". I haven't tried doing a search by username yet.

I haven't really made much of anything, though. I only got the beta a couple of days ago, so I feel like I'm running on borrowed time until it ends. I've spent quite a bit of time fiddling with the tools, though. The usual... strapping rockets onto skateboards and such. I also found out that glass is pretty bouncy when it's spinning at 5000rpm or so. Bounced so high I hit the upper wall of the map.

Well your levels are mentioned here before. 700 times, that's quite impressive. Is it just me that when I choose cool levels, I either get levels that have been played thousands of times, or just a few times. Meanwhile I'm stuck at 10 times played, 2 times hearted, and once hearted myself. Most of those from people who visit the forums in post in, a few clanbuddies, and friends. But they do seem to like it.

Besides search, my favorite is to go to the left moon (Forgot what it's called).
You'll be able to see all the levels published by people on your friends list.

Yeah, I just found that, allowing keyword and tag searches to find original content. Guess who really hasn't done much playing? ;) I found a couple of nice ones that really showed a lot of time and effort had been put in. One was God of War, which everyone knows already. The other was a spooky mansion, with a riddle at the end, and nice atmosphere. I'd love to see a 'time in development' stat for levels, so players can appreciate how much work can go into stuff. I also think the heart:played ratio is a very important metric. A level that's spectacular is likely to be hearted by a majority of players. Some balancing would be needed to float early good levels to the top. If a level is great but the first person to play quits or something, and doesn't heart it, it'll get a 0% ratio. As it is, the 'most played' choice doesn't represent the best levels from what little I've seen.

Has anyone ran into fun side effects of their levels? Mine has a jetski that's partly made from explosives. Everytime it blows up it sends the rockets flying out of control, sometimes crushing respawning players, or blowing up part of the environment. The jetski can respawn after its destroyed, and any left over parts do dissolve after a short time.

I haven't seen any respawning vehicle's after they have been destroyed, except for mine, and I've destroyed plenty. Usually resulting in having to restart a level. It's pretty easy to set-up, just capture the vehicle as an object, and have it spawn from an emitter. All you have do now is set time it can exist, and how many can exist at the same time.

I dunno about fun moments. There have been a fair few times I've been killed by level design bugs, like jumping for a springy platform, the jump mechanics float me somewhere short, and then I get crushed. Or vehicles going so fast you just die. Balancing levels to elliminate all these issues is going to be a hard task!

Most of the time I spent on my level is probably just play-testing it enough to make it playable but not too easy while making sure people who miss the sled in my level gets the necessary sled respawned and not falling through the cracks in the level and ending up activating an earlier spawn point that makes later levels inaccessible.

I just played Kittonwy's level. It's pretty good, there are a lot of cool ideas in there. It did break on me though, but that's probably the beta's fault. The sled wouldn't move when I grabbed the sponge, I did hear a breaking sound before getting back up there.

Yeah, it was a bit dodgy. I liked it, but the sled turned over halfway through on my first run, and I had no option but to jump onto the electrified railing and several runs later with the sled either turning over or me trying different things that didn't work, the spawned sledge was a dud. Wouldn't move at all. I didn't know where the launch trigger was, but it wasn't 'grab the sponge' nor 'pass this point' or anything as far as I could tell.

Yeah I had to take the wheels out, it turns out the wheels make things worse for the sled which goes pretty fast, the problem is that when it's was slower it was still fast but it didn't feel fast.

No, there's no grab mechanism for activating the sled, all the sponge does is for the player to hang on.

I fixed a few things and republished it again, hopefully it's just a tad better, damn all these iterations.

I can't really give away the flying machine secrets too much. You CAN go somewhere rewarding. The problem with the flying machine is that the sponge controls can break, but that's the nature of the sponges as well as the springs, they're not as durable as let's say metal. >:p
