Hey there fellow PC gamers. 100% console gamer here, but I think it would be a good idea to share some screenshots and tweaks with you, especially taking into account it's a recurrent matter here in this thread.

For tweaks, there are two excellent guides, as far as I know, where they explain what every parameter changes.

I don't have a good enough PC to run Skyrim even at low settings, but I've been reading these web pages just out of curiosity, and this one is my favourite. Lots of tweaking excellently explained:

I used a mod that actually puts a high resolution real night sky (as in the one you see when you look up at night) in the game. Fortunately the Skyrim constellations are in a different file so they don't go away, you just get a really detailed (and recognizable) night sky.

It really is mind blowing how much more interesting the locations are in this game than Oblivion.

I edited my previous post but I think this is worthy of a post of its own.

I'm going to tell you guys how to get rich, and it's totally legit.

1. Learn the Transmute spell.
   
2. Find an iron ore mine.
   
3. Mine the shit out of it. Take the iron ore + all the gems you acquired to your house.
   
4. Transmute the iron ore into silver ore, then transmute the silver ore into gold ore. Even non-magic characters like myself can do it, you just have to sleep for an hour after every transmutation to regain magica.
   
5. Take the gold ore to a smelter and make gold ingots.
   
6. Take the gold ingots to the forge and make gold jewelry. Diamond rings are worth 900 a pop btw.

The hardest part now is to find merchants who have enough money to buy all this stuff. But as far as problems go, that is a good one. Your smithing skill will also go up a level for every couple of pieces of jewelry you make. For Skyrim!

If you have a lot of petty or less common soul gems (they are pretty common) you can enchant these jewelries for even better profits. Fortify Sneak is a good candidate.

You have to find diamonds though as well. I have a bunch of gold ingots and all I can make is a necklace worth 120. Only 20 more than the ingot.

But you gain smithing skill by doing it.

I am not sure jewellery should be in the same bunch as smithing, neither should hide armour but this isn't an MMO.

Precious gems are found when you mine ore veins. Basically every time you mine an ore vein, you find one piece of ore, then a randomly selected gem, then another piece of ore. So in theory you should be able to make a bunch of really expensive jewelry off of a single iron ore mine. And I can tell you I have made a crapload of insanely valuable jewelry from this method.



Lol okay so that necklace is stolen, but I made all of the other jewelry you see there (except one of the silver necklaces and the silver ring) including the diamond ring and the 12 silver amethyst rings. Bling Bling.

But it isn't right. I am a divine and superior being, I am a console gamer. Aside from that, actually, the truth is that I had been following this thread and I noticed people were talking about tweaks -Albuquerque's posts were very interesting-, and stuff, and I wanted to share.

I feel slightly envious -because you can use things like FXAA Injection (although AA on the 360 looks great) and sun-rays, etc etc, and adapt the game to your PC, which seems fun to me. However, at the same time I feel relieved I don't have to tweak anything as a divine console gamer.

But remember (and this seems to be a common misconception about PC gaming in general), you don't have to tweak anything on PC. You can run with stock High or Ultra settings and still get a much better experience than you do on consoles. And it doesn't take a very powerful PC to run High setting. My PC was midrange back in 2008 and I can play on High with close to 60FPS constantly.

If you do decide to add some tweaks the game suddenly starts to look like a proper 2011 PC game. My enhanced starfield mod turns the night sky into a beautiful work of art and requires no extra performance. NVIDIA SSAO is a tremendous improvement IMO. Still haven't found a proper fix for the fugly shadows though

Hmm I was only getting like amethyst and stuff that did not go in the necklaces I could make. Maybe I am too low level or something.

I was finding mostly lower level stuff also, but I did come across a few Flawless Garnets and other Flawless gems that I can't remember. I was ~level 16, and I dunno if that has anything to do with it (I hope not...).

Bethesda has acknowledged an issue with the Xbox 360 version of its The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim title, warning customers not to install the game on the hard drive of the console, as an issue with the streaming systems used by the RPG causes textures to be loaded with a lower than normal resolution.

Skyrim works on the X1950XTX. A few visual problems though. It looks like there's something missing with the lighting and some shadows are blocky.

1920x1200, Ultra high (medium shadows), 2x AA, 16x AF. Probably 10fps.

You can see Solitude in the background. Simply breathtaking.

Damn Solitude is an incredible city. Whoever designed it deserves a serious bonus.
