I've definitely bought less this sale, but some of that is because I've become more bored with gaming in general. A lot of it has become the same old same old, so I've passed on many of the cheap titles this sale either because I'm bored of the genre, or the game looks too derivative, or been there done that, etc. I guess also because I still have lots of games in my current steam library that I have yet to touch so there isn't as much hurry to add to that unless it's a screaming deal on a game.

Same feeling here. I am seeing games I already bought in the last steam sale. Except for Torchlight 2 and Mark of The Ninja, nothing has even sparked my interest till now. I wanted Witcher 2 and it did get a great discount but I had already bought it from the GOG sale at the same price. Still waiting for Skyrim to go for $10, but I think that won't happen for a long time.

To anyone who hasn't got Torchlight 2 yet : Get it ! I was expecting it to be a mediocre game but it has turned out to be one of the best pc games in a loooong time for me. It has pulled me away from everything else.

Whats with games getting repeats the very next day ?!?!? I just bought Torchlight 2 for $5 yesterday and now its the top featured game on todays sale again : same price $5 !!!! Its like they don't hav any games for sale this time.

Not been impressed either. Also, I bought Torchlight 2 and the Witcher 2 shortly after I got my new machine already, close to a year ago.

I've personally gotten quite a few games at 75% off or more this sale. Some of those like LA Noire were just games that I didn't think I'd want in previous sales. I've gotten more in this sale than I did in the last Winter sale.

I would have gotten more titles but I'm waiting for them to get below a certain price first. I figure many of them will show up at the price I want in the Winter sale. Bioshock Infinite, for example. But that game is new enough that I wasn't expecting it to hit 75% off for the Summer sale anyway.

Thinking about getting Saints Row the Third, it's on sale for ten bucks until the 22nd. Anyone play it? How is it?

I've picked up AOE2 HD, Borderlands 2, and Mars: War Logs. The latter is probably the most interesting to me. Got the former for perhaps some LAN gaming in the future that probably won't happen ;).

ps: I recommend turning off weapon degradation its over done imho
There's the other issue where you can stand still in the game and within a minute or so enemies respawn. I know they did this to make it feel like you're never alone but I just found it cheesy and impeding exploration a bit. Bioshock is similar.

Bought Torchlight 2, Witcher 2, Fallout 3 GotY and FTL so far...haven't actually played any of them yet. Gonna buy a triple monitor stand finally (upgrade on my harry potter books being used as stands lol) and enjoy Fallout 3 in Eyefinity.

Bought Risen 2 for $5, so count me in as disappointed too. I almost made a few convenience purchases, such as Dragon Age for $9 just so I wouldn't have to hunt down discs and d/l DLC, but didn't do it.

Actually, that's not the worse I've seen during these sales. Check this out:

The FarCry complete pack costs a lot more than buying each game individually.

A couple of days ago, they put a game on vote for 50% discount.. while the same game was being sold for 66%.
Basically, they put people to vote on increasing the price of a game.

It seems like Valve isn't trying very hard to wow their customers during these sales.
Perhaps they put too much faith/resources into the card thingies.
I couldn't care less about the cards. I'm not willing to pay for games I don't want for cards, nor will I replay older games to get cards.

I'm actually making money on the cards. Not a lot, but it is free money. :) I did manage to sell a foil card for almost 1.50 USD, however. :) A card that I got from a game I paid about 4 USD for.

Most of the cards I've gotten only sell for between 0.16 - 0.30 USD though. Still, it's free money.

What is the deal with cards ? I got two i guess for playng Torchlight 2. How are guys selling those? What are they worth, I mean?
I understood the coal system and got myself Alien Vs Predator for free by crafting 7 coal into a game, but I don't understand anything about these cards..can someone explain ins simple words please.

Also, CS:GO at $5 right now. That seems like a good price for it. The only reason I would buy it would be for player mods. Time to search if it has any :)

Edit: there justseems to be a Zombie mod, thats all. Couldn't find anything else :(

Go into your Steam inventory. Anything that is marked as "Marketable" you can sell on the market and they'll have a sell button when selected.

And how do they determine the sale price? Does it work like an auction?

Haven't bought anything yet. I think there may have been "too many" sales and too few good new games and because of this, I'm getting the "I've seen this before" feeling on almost every offer.

Yup price is determined entirely by the card owners.

So you price the card at whatever price you want. They provide a nice price over time graph for the last X days tracking the lowest offered price.

Prices have dipped sharply with the sale going on. Not unexpected as people buy and play games they just bought.

I'm really enjoying it too, definitely one for anybody who likes Diablo (let's face it that's everybody). Well worth the paltry cost for me already and I only started playing it today.
