If you want to use POM, you'll need to copy the test.vfp and interaction.vfp files from one of the POM folders (POM is the best) and put it directly one level up, in the base of the glprogs folder.

i.e C:\Program Files (x86)\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\common\doom 3\sikkmod\glprogs

^^That is where test.vpf and interaction.vfp go.

ps: not sure if its on sale but if you want a sandboxy type game like justcause2 ect
see if they have Red faction guerrilla

I did that Davros, but I get black textures. There's a fix out there but the link is dead in all the places I searched. BTW, even without POM and Wulfen's textuers and just sikkmod, the game looks FANTASTIC ! inspiring the same awe in me which it did all those years back :p ! I love D3 ! Steam screenshot function takes really cxrappy pics or I would post here :

I don't like the color grading in some areas, but looks fantastic in most areas.

As for Red Faction Guerrilla, bought that 2 years back in Steam Sale, really liked it too, but the FX like fire keep floating on my screen, so quit it. Anyyways, thanx for the suggestion. Looks like its D3 only till now in Steam sale and thank god I didn't get the BFG edition :D !More suggestions are also welcome !
 
I was going to recommend Singularity (similar old school gameplay) but its not cheap on steam
Also by raven software is wolfenstein (2009 version not return to castle wolfenstein) although theres nothing wrong with rtcw I just assumed you have it.

ps: deus ex hr is now on sale

Yeah, I have my eyes on Wolfenstein and Singularity. Already have Deus Ex on steam as well as Ps3, superb game !

Didn't get time to get wulfens texture pack applied on Doom 3 today. Can't wait for tomorrow.

I am annoyed that on "Give Me Deus Ex" difficulty a silenced sniper rifle shot to a head with just a balaclava on it is not fatal. I don't like that style of increasing difficulty. Probably just bump up the enemy hit points and damage, and drop their reaction time to zero (these guys snap to that first exposed pixel lol).
 
Bought RAGE :D ! Now to figure out downloading 25 gbs and will my 4850 be able to run it on 1920x1080 @60fps? Me got Q9450+4gb Ram+hd4850(512mbram).

I hope it can cos it runs on cosnoles at 60fps :unsure:

Add Torchlight II, RAGE and Max Payne 3 to the list.... hard to beat RAGE for $5 lol
 
Rage's shooting bits are gloriously good, IMO. Superb oldschool action at its best. On a PC, that is. The driving bits are effing WEAK. When played with mouse and keyboard, I don't have a controller... Should try to find a wired xbox controller, are there any black wired microsoft pads out there? Don't like most third-party pads.

RAGE is a good game, i played the demo on ps3 , its a great shooter and a great looker too. Some areas are just beautiful. People say Doom 3 is a bad game too, when I think thats a lovely shooter too. People just hated Rage for low res textures up close and bashed it for everyhting they could think of.

The only legit complaint I have heard is that it ends abrubtly. Can't wait to play it along with Doom3 with sikkmod aadm wulfen texture pack. Two awesome shooters.

Just hope my hardware doesn't struggle, cos that will ruin the experience.
 
Good and old school shooting action?
I would download (paid for) new Quake 3 engined games if that's we were given. The old by now Wolfenstein installment was fun.
Games were more or less crap free, they would just run, whether you had a geforce 2MX or a ti4600, a Celeron or a 2GHz monster. They even looked good..

I'm now totally out of the gaming loop. (I don't feel like upgrading given what I have is already twice as powerful as I'd need for everything else)
