My supposition matches yours Grall; I too am of the opinion that Origin stays out of the way. I will be following Richard's advice and waiting till the last moment before I buy, in the hope that it shows up in the flash sales list for 98% off :D

Thanks for the heads up; just bought Metro. I bought Skyrim for my brother yesterday (or whatever day it was) when it went half-price. Still haven't pulled the trigger on Crysis 2, as I can't definitively discover if it still installs Origin or not. I'm going to be stubborn about truly NOT wanting Origin on my gaming rig.

Crysis 2 from Steam doesn't need Origin to run ;). (or at least it didn't when I last time played it few months ago).

I was lucky getting C2 off Steam before EA removed it and had tons of fun in both SP and especially MP. I liked MP because it was something in between COD MW and BF3. Only weak point was comparably small maps, but it still gave plenty of fun when playing on CHEATER free servers. Yes, cheaters were a big problem for C2 especially after Crytek abandoned developing MP code after releasing patch 1.9.

The multiplayer aspect isn't a core purchase decision for me, so if you say it doesn't need Origin, then I'll be all over it before the sale ends :D Thanks for the feedback!

So for someone that quickly got bored of Assasins Creed Brotherhood as being more of the same old same old, is there any point in buying AC Revelations?

Correct you are; $11.99 USD and I've purchased it :D

For those who missed Skyrim at half off, it's back for another ~8hrs.

I am also very very tempted, especially since it includes all DLC. But is the MP alive now? I liked the MP in the MP demo back then, but never got to play the final release.
Should I go for it? Will it be worth it for the MP?
Also, are there lotsa mods for Crysis2? The mods made Crysis fun for a long time for me.

During these sales, I got from Steam:

Saints Row: The Third
Sanctum
Trine 2
Max Payne 3
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Assassin's Creed Revelations
Alan Wake + American Nightmare
Alice: Madness Returns
The Witcher 2
Dead Island

Also, Mass Effect 3 on Origin.

And I still had L.A. Noire, Mafia 2, Serious Sam 3 and Lara Croft GOL to finish playing. The last two I only play in coop, since they're really boring to play otherwise.

I've got enough games to play until the next Summer Sales, I think.
Skyrim took my "gaming time" for about 6 months, and that includes a full month of medical leave. If I think about it, the game was a really great value for 50€ and now it's twice that value for 25€.

I've picked up all the DLC for Fallout:NV, Crysis 2, Metro 2033, Saints Row 3rd Franchise Pack, and I bought the Portal 1/2 pack, the RockStar pack and Skyrim for my brother. I am hoping to grab Batman:AC if it goes back on uber-sale (it's the next voted item in the Flash Sale list)

Quoting myself, because my vote counted! :D

Batman:AC Franchise Pack is 82% off ($24.99) and includes:
  • Arkham City
  • Arkham City: Robin Bundle
  • Arkham City: Nightwing Bundle
  • Arkham City: Challenge Map Pack
  • Arkham City: Harley Quinn's Revenge
  • Arkham City: Skins Pack
  • Arkham Asylum GOTY
  • Gotham City Impostors
  • One metric shit-tonne of Gotham City DLC

Yay for more points on the credit card :p

Ah jesus, now I'm going to have to pick up Crysis 2 and Batman:AC

You know I swore I wouldn't spend much this sale thanks to Secret World... that didn't turn out too good.

Bought Metro 2033. I am turning off my PC, iPad and iPod now to save my precious money. I had almost bought Crysis 2, missed it by a few mins :( !

The STALKER series is on sale for $11.19, which is 75% off.

I already had the first one, but not through Steam. Fixed that problem :)

Trine 2 is a pretty gorgeous little game. I'ts nothing more than a side scrolling platformer w/puzzles, but my kids love it. Really glad I grabbed it for $4 the other day.

Dungeon Defenders is awesome. It was well worth the flash sale price I paid ;) I think the collection price of $22, or whatever it is, would actually be worth it.

Will try out Frozen Synapse soon.

Alan Wake on sale again finally, so picked that up. Might have to plug in the new PC to the TV and surround for that one.

Game for $7.50 or franchise for $10, no brainer.

I wandered over to my local Half Price Books and found Crysis 2 Limited Edition for $7, Mass Effect 2 for $9 (or maybe it was less) and Dragon Age 2 for $5 (lol). They get batches of what must be old inventory. Surprises never end there.
