Right but jedi's don't seek revenge so it was changed. The sith however have alot to be pissed about haha :)

Hmmm why does it remind me of Return of the Jedi.

Probably because the working title of "Return of the Jedi" was actually originally titled "Revenge of the Jedi!"
actually, from what i've read, that is incorrect.
The title "revenge of the jedi" was the fake leaked title.

no we have a movie thearter here and it has a poster of revenge of the jedi. IT was changed a month or two before release . THere are even a few copys of the book with revenge on it

Given the previous title, (Attack of the Clones, which the sith were behind) the current title for Episode III makes no logical sense.

Rise of the Empire is a common favorite, but I'd hope it'd be something else.
Edit: Oh! So Revenge of the Sith is the confirmed title....

Sucks.

I was hoping of a more original title, ROTS is too much like ROTJ.
Still, the movie will be good, even if it sucked

It was always supposed to be a fake title to fool the bootleggers. You could tell if you were buying fake merchandise because of the wrong name.

Unfortunatly, it was such a good idea, it also fooled some of the PR people who were not in on the secret, and official stuff (like some film posters) got printed up and distributed in advance of the name change. Supposedly worth quite a lot of money to collectors if you have any of the "revenge" merchandise.

I think you meant to write the movie will suck, even if the title didn't.

Damn that Lucas for ruining my childhood memories.

Let's just hope that some attention is paid to plot, dialogue and acting in this episode as this has been somewhat lacking in it's predecessors. :)

Really ? well remember i was only like 3 when the movie came out .

Anyay I do have a revenge post in mint condition. I got it for 20$ like 8 years ago

I always did like the "Rise of the Empire" rumor/whatever. It had a good solid ring to it, and it sounded evil and stuff. "Revenge of the Sith", hmm. It's not BAD, but it's lacking that special something...

Not sure what it refers to, so far everything's proceeding as planned by Palpatine, so what do they need revenge for? Possibly ancient history, pre-Republic stuff, but that's so long ago it becomes quite nebulous for the uninitiated moviegoer who's just looking for some cool entertainment for two hours of their lives.

The Sith were exterminated by the Jedi, now it's gonna be the other way around ;)

The title is just like the others, they makes sense and they sounds corny just like b-movies from the 30s & 40s, which is what Star Wars is after all 8)

I don't care what they name it. The last two movies simply aren't what I expected of George Lucas. He fell into the Hollywood trap with both movies. I got nothing from the last two approaching the emotional feeling I got with the first 3 SW movies. It was all "wow" and less "hmmm".

I don't have high expectations.

Titles irrelevent, its still bound to have annoying "cute" fluffy animals, aliens that don't quite fit, voice actors that should be shot, dodgy cg etc etc etc.

Basically waiting to be dissapointed for a third time here.

John.

Soooo...exactly like all the other SW films. :)

Surely, then, you mean a 6th time :)

Which is exactly what Lucas said he wanted to make with Starwars. Nothing wrong with that. A bit of cheese never hurt anyone***

Noo, expectations where much less when I was young, besides I think GL's brain only started going fluffy with Return of the Jedi, but inspite of the annoying teddy bears that was still better than eps 1&2, although the ending was always bad, but on the re-released version it made me want to be sick! Happy happy la la. Groan. Give me an alternative ending where the empire wins, fried ewok an'all please, not this purile nonsense! Sigh, now I'm ranting.

John.
