Sony VR Headset/Project Morpheus/PlayStation VR

this thing with japanese hentai games will sell millions of ps4 in japan.

i hope alien isolation will support it.
hmmmm, do you think that's a great find? hehe that's what I expected from the get to. Talking about findings something... (reminds me of my cat who used to drink from the tap)

With great results I might add, both in Crysis 2 and Crysis 1. Maybe not as good as proper 3D but very convincing overall. That's how I used my brand new 3D glasses for the first time.

It was a nice implementation which added a good level of depth to the scene - especially considering the very low performance impact. But its certainly not proper 3d with a completely different camera for each eye. While it's passable for 3d gaming on a screen I don't think it'll cut it for VR which needs to feel like a fully 3D world rather than just a 2D scene with added depth.

Almost seems as if Killzone's rendering setup was made for this ...

Still feel that PC will be the best place for this, but we'll see.

So I'd venture holiday 2015 with a new killzone at $300 without the camera. PS4's first price drop also down to $300 . Bundle all 3 together at $600

I thought this thing isn't even a final product. And certainly not to be commercialised?

I have serious doubts they'd start to sell this in a bundle with ps4. Sony have changed a lot lately so you never know, but as it stands, this looks to be a peripheral Sony can easily dump if they see it doesn't catch on, like many, many other products they have created in the past.

OR! It could start a revolution and then things would be very different.

I firmly believe this is and will be an extreme niche product for quite a long time.

Metal Gear VR sneaking missions would be pretty awesome.

The walking on the surface of Mars or the Moon using real data captured by NASA would be sublime. Actually getting to watch sunrise over Earth from space with real footage... It's the other applications that might be more exciting than games! But not much. Just a teensie tiny bit...

If they did manage to convince many good studios in the past year or so... chances are it will work. Unless of course they do gimmick stuff like most eyetoy and waggle and kinect games. But I'm very optimistic, there's much more value this time, and the industry has a chance to move in tandem, with Valve and Occulus in the mix.

I have no idea why they didn't make gloves version of the Move controller.

No! The last thing we want from VR sets is rehashes of 50 year old pixelated games. Didn't work then, won't work now.
Yes!
I'm not talking about a full game. Have you played the side vr mission challenges in MGS2?
Eg lets say MGS5:phantom Pain have a couple dozen vr side mission challenges, off of the main game. They've done side vr missions repeatedly in the series. Its like the Starcraft 2 challenges. Obviously these could be played the traditional way the side missions always have, with a monitor, or now with vr immersion using the Morpheus Helmet.
There is something about TRON like untextured polygons and VR that should get those who lived in the 80s all nostalgic and warm and fuzzy.

They definitely shouldn't use that "full persistence" panel from 1991.
