Sony PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2)

What are folks most looking forward to playing? The only game I own that has PSVR2 support is No Man's Sky. I'm still undecided what to buy day one.

Ian said Horizon had too much climbing. He recommended Kayak. snc listed the big names, though he misspelled Wanderer (for your Googling).

Edit: Another typical(ly great) Ian review:

I was never sold on Horizon and that's why I didn't buy the pack with the game bundled. All of the things I like doing in Horizon, didn't seem like they would be viable gameplay mechanics in VR. The Kayak game does look good neat and it's only £16 too! I'm also interesting in the boxing game (Creed: Rise to Glory) but I don't think that's out until later in the year.

Tough take into account from what I heard Kayak is more like beautiful tech demo, no much game there. Better go hardcore with gt7 and village ;d

I am not going near Village. I played the earlier Resident Evil demo on the original PSVR and that was more than enough. Horror isn't massively my thing! I am hopeful for a GT7 VR demo, I'd like to try it out before dropping £70 on the game.

If you have disc ps5 surely you can have gt7 much cheaper, if not I think discount promo for gt7 ended yesterday ;d

Unless you find a terrific deal on a GT7 disc, I’d suggest getting it digitally. It’s updated often enough to make the disc data almost pointless, and a digital copy will make hopping online for a MP race that much faster. A disc copy might make sense if they release an updated version, like with GTS.

Though you may have to progress through like two hours of the game to unlock online play, AFAIK. Totally worth it if you’re new to GTS/7, maybe annoying if you’re coming from GTS.

Solid piece of kit. I'm not interested in any ports though which is making this a slightly tougher sell. I'm mainly interested in RE8 which i've also played in VR with the mod but the psvr2 version doesn't have the issues that has. Don't really want to buy a VR headset for 1 game but it's happened before so will see how my self control holds up ;)

In the tested review he mentions turning eye tracking off and not noticing a performance decrease, one of the other reviews also talked about turning it off and said it fell back into a fixed foveated rendering output. So far Carmack seems to be being proven right.

Also i'm not a fan of them using eye tracking to help you aim in Horizon, don't you bring aim assist to VR you animals noooooooooo ;) I'm joking it's actually a good accessibility option, although it probably needs to stay out of multiplayer games.

yay! so.. potentially could easily work with 3D SBS video (or games) via VLC or something?

At least they've not encrypted video!

As per iVRy_VR's reddit post that the Verge article links, we're likely years from a usable PC solution, if it happens at all.

Of course, newly PC friendly Sony could just release some drivers and all will be well with the world!

did any of you receive their confirmation mail yet ?

Stlll no email, but I was charged for the PSVR2 and the controller charging station very early this morning and my order status has changed to 'Processing'. In my pre-order email it states: "Your payment will be processed when your pre-order item is ready to ship. Once it has shipped you will receive an email which will include a tracking number." but also "NOTE: The shipment tracking link can take up to 48 hours to update on our carrier's website, even after you have received the shipment confirmation email. "

So having charged me this morning, I assume it will ship today or tomorrow.

I reckon I'll be picking up Kayak VR, Pistol Whip (aka John Wick murder simulator) and possibly the Star Wars experience. I think GT7 is probably also an inevitable purchase but I'd really like to try it before I buy it. The original PSVR had three bunches game demo packs but there's no sign of Sony doing this for PSVR2
