Amsterdam-based studio goes for a military theme with new name

Dutch development studio Lost Boys, currently beavering away on a PS2 exclusive title for SCEE, has officially changed its name to Guerrilla following the acquisition of the company by the Media Republic group.

The game Guerrilla is working on is thought to be Killzone, a first person shooter being touted in some places as "Sony's Halo beater". More official information on the game (which we currently know only from some blurry but promising-looking screenshots) is set to appear around the end of this month.

Lost Boys was founded in early 2000 from the merging of three established Dutch developers, and recently became part of Media Republic, a group which specialises in cross-media formats.

End of the week Sony is gonna spew it's guts up regarding Killzone :p I'm guessing Saturday. They announce it around midday to selected gaming press and then the media starts to trickle through.

At last, something to look forward too ;)
I hope they'll choose Kin :/

Kin is a way more cool-sounding name than killzone, which just seems mindlessly bloodthirsty and stupid to me. Like Postal for example, ALL you do is shoot things until they're dead.

*G*

Now that I think about it, 'Kin' can have iffy connotation even in english, if you think about the 'kinfolk' / redneck vocabulary...

Actually, you rarely hear that word nowadays except in the movies that make fun of rednecks, etc :\
