SOCOM where are you?

I read something a while ago "rumor" about a SOCOM 4 and possibly having a demo at one of the recent conferences but nothing ever happened?. I am pretty sure there has been nothing said officially but does anyone have anything creditable to it's development. The SOCOM community is in utter disgust over the hugely flawed SOCOM CA released last year, and are desperate for any news to look forward too.

I kind of hope Zipper goes a different direction for the PS3. Like, return to it's roots. Small multiplayer maps and keep the # of players low. I think 10v10 would be perfect.

I though SOCOM 2 COULD have been the best but the lag and random bootings held the game back.
