So, what happens if Xbox2 hardware ends up inferior to NES5?

what if PS3 3D looks/plays/sounds/moves/lives/breaths/whatatat no better than your next console?

In any case, in my eyes, it will have succeeded, having inspired the competition to surpass it... especially if it exceeds the expectations of most and is surpassed...

A revolution to inspire the next generation, to bring videogames into the real-mainstream... let's see the next level of entertainment...

Once nigh-photo real is achieved... things will change...

PS maybe one day n will buy m...

just thought about something really funny..

Just think for a moment, if Sony really ends up with the best hardware (let's say by a long margin too)... Seen history so far, that could be connected to them actually losing the first place, because the most powerful console is never the market leader...

Funnily enough, having the best hardware would be a curse to them... Quite interesting huh...

Then you should mail Bill Gates and tell him to just double the X-Box specs for X-Box 2 and it will be the winner. ;)

Sony has the market for marketing reasons and not because they have the "weakest" console.

NONONONO i wasnt saying that "having the weakest console is cause for being the market leader"...

i was just observing the very funny fact that the weakest, for one reason or another, ends up being market leader... like it's a curse to the ones trying to put out the best hardware...

correlation, not causation

Well, the most powerful console usually has the best start, and SNES outsold genesis in the end. Generally, the most practical console is the one that wins. NES was cheaper than master system, snes had an eject button, psx had cheaper games than n64 and was easier to program for...and ps2 is a dvd player! Ok, maybe the most practical doesn't always win, but the one with the most games usually does, but that's a side effect of winning, but the cheapest one to come out first is usually the winner, the only exception being the snes.

yeah, i mean, as i said, i didn't mean "If they make the most powerful hardware, then they'll lose"...

i was just observing, saying "Mmmmmmm so far, the *most powerful* hardware never won the race..."

Oh, so you mean like neogeo or 3do or whatever versus snes.

hehe :) so THAT's why "they" can't push GBA out of the market!

Yeah, i mean the console race is always won by the company who can BS their way through better... as in, the ones that can take in as many casual gamers as possible with big PR words, then if they can provide the good stuff (games) etc... nothing to do with how powerful the hardware is...
