Is this a load of crap? At first on Team Xbox, some people were suggesting it was Alan Wake but I find that hard to believe. A lot of people are looking forward to that game on 360 and PC. Now people are saying it might be Banjo but it sounds like a bunch of guesses.

Shane Bettenhausen on the 1up yours podcast also finished the podcast with a rumor that someone was going to leave Microsoft as well as that a big project was going to be cancelled. He said it was a 97% likely to be true rumor, and you'd hear about it in the next two weeks ...

Ooops I just assumed it was Shane 'Kim'. Obviously its the guy you are on about.

Now people are saying it could be Marvel MMO or Banjo, but I dont think anyone really knows.

What the hell's going on with MS's first-party development studios?

Shane?? The guy is full of so much crap it's unbelievable, I guess we'll see if he's right for once. Sounds pretty confident...

Fable 2? Seems like a good candiate IMO. It's never really gotten much attention outside of the hardcore, and quite honestly sounds a little high minded for the mass market.

I heard "things" about Too Human, but it also wouldn't qualify as "first party"...

Shane talked about it earlier in the podcast, too and that discussion wouldn't have led you to believe that he thought it was going to be canceled. Maybe we should start making a list of possibilities. My first thoughts for possibilities are Fable 2 or one of the Halo projects (Halo Wars or "The Peter Jackson Project"). It's not that I think those are the likely, just that those are the ones I can think of that fit the criteria.

As for the executive leaving, if it's Jeff Bell I'm all for it. After all, he has his good friend Reggie Bush to help him get through the tough times and he can always comfort himself by reflecting on his great contributions to society. Plus, think of the bright futures he could have as a shill on the Home Shopping Network or in used car sales!

Robbie Bach has been selling a lot of his Microsoft stock over the last 9 months. He'll probably step down.

If Halo Wars isn't good, it risks damaging the Halo brand. Halo Wars might be to hardcore for the Halo consummer even if it's good.

Fable 1 sold 2.5 millions if I'm not mistaken, and was the main reason they bought Lionhead, so it sounds unlikely.

Banjo is a much-needed kid-themed game, also unlikely.

Rare have at least three internal teams, there's two more things to cancel besides Banjo :)

Remedy is not a First party dev, so it definately is not Alan Wake...

Notice how the article says first party title and not first party developer. So Alan Wake can fit in this case and I'm putting my money on it. We haven't seen any new footage of it for the longest time.

Alan Wake? No way. It is a highly anticipated game and the only way it'll be cancel would be possibly the Xbox 360 release, but I seriously doubt it. The game is likely way to far along for it to be that unless they recently ran into major, major issues. I'm going to say it's a minor title in the grand scheme of things.

Alan Wake is the darling of both MS & Intel (even more so now after the Havok acquisition & the upcoming physics push). No way is it getting canned.

Remedy is not a First party dev, so it definately is not Alan Wake...
Aren't all Microsoft-publishing titles first party? The OP says a first-party title, not a first-party dev. Forza and PGR are usually called first-party.

AFAIK Halo Wars is the most advanced in its production with a video shown among the games suspected...
