Re: Sega's US Sales .. /shamelessly copied from another site

JET SET RADIO FUTURE | 97,360 |

Add the 28,433 copies sold in Japan, and we may never see the franchise again.

:(

I want another the Jet Set Radio.

REZ | 20,512 |

And Space Channel 5 isn't even on there :( (although the 2 part 'special edition' just recently came out, and is published by Agetec, but still...)

CHU!

edit: I should add that I believe Sega's quality has dropped substantially in recent time, so it's not like it's completely the market's fault.

500.000 'Combo Disks with SegaGT2002 and JSRF' were bundled with Xbox consoles. ;) Shame that Jet Set Radio Future and Panzer Dragoon Orta didn't sell more, there aren't many titles that can match their production quality.

Totally agree. When Sega do something right, it's sooo right

*swaps right with wrong*

I'm pretty sure this post is pretty darn old, (more than a year???), and that we've seen it before, (notice how there are no 2k4 numbers?). I'm guessing that the overall numbers have changed substantially since then, although I've been wrong before, (once or twice ;)).

Consider yourself wrong again my friend, as these are up to date. ;)

just goes to show this industry is no longer (only) about talent and good original games .

Situation is not as grim as you put it. Good games will succeed most of the times (with few exceptions), nobody wants a bad product.

Good games with good marketing, or bad games with good marketing sell. :)

Who remembers their discrete mathematics?

let g = good game
let b = bad game
let U = universe of all games
let m = good marketing
let s = will sell

Assume
g or b = U

(g AND m) or (b AND m) = s
m and (g or b) = s
m and U = s
therefore all games with good marketing will sell

did i get that completely wrong?

You're getting towards AI level here!! j/k :LOL:

let U = universe of all games => U = 1
m and 1 = m
Thus:
m = s 8)
