Rise of the Tomb Raider [XO, XOX, X360, PS4, P4Pro]

If you don't like how the cleanup is done, don't make a mess in the first place. You're grown humans. Use some intelligence first.

New article from game informer- or at least the print edition will have a full scoop.
There appears to be a screen shot of the game in there too. Not sure if that's in game or not the article doesn't mention it. But it does look in-engine to me. I don't think it can pass as CG. If at the least I think it's using in game assets. More news on this game tomorrow Feb 4.

Game Informer Leaked - gonna try to save these for b3d use incase it goes down and requested later. Here's a shot, rest are in the link.

edit: I removed the leaked publication link for now. If you need it you can google it. Otherwise it would be with game informer.

Tomb Raider in snow...just like Far Cry 4 went to mountains.

Shame they are releasing on 360 too. Automatic graphics cap.

Oh I didn't know this thread was cleaned up, I wanted to avoid re-using it since it seemed like a mixture of Remastered version + parity anger, but thanks. Yes this works out a lot better now.

Nixxes Software are developing the 360 version of RotTR. So the graphics shouldn't be limited on the Xone or PC version (when it releases).

I've seen the pictures elsewhere and it looks gorgeous to me taking into account the game is an open world game -somewhat, stages are three times bigger than in the previous game on average-.

I am really looking forward to this game...I hope it is basically like the first game, just a new setting and story.

Same here. I'm currently about 3/4 of the way through the remaster, and even though I played it on the 360 I'm still thoroughly enjoying it and having a lot of fun going back through the nice open levels mopping up collectables. Some of the collectables require a decent amount of effort to find and get you using all your navigation tools (rope arrows, etc..)

Shooting could possibly be made a little tighter, but aside from that it controls very nicely.

One thing I really do want is larger and more complex tombs. Oh, and Croft manor to tool about in!

On the One/360 version issue there should ne no worries there. It looks very much like the 360 version will not be an anchor for the One version. In the same way that Horizon 2 on Xbox One was not hamstrung by the 360 version, the 360 version is also being outsourced at a point where the One version is in what looks like a pretty advanced state of development.

I don't think the new game can be "like the first game" on anything but gameplay.
The 2013's Tomb Raider was an origin story. Lara was shaped and reshaped throughout the game. Rise of the Tomb Raider should present a matured Lara that should be a lot closer to the originals from the 90s. Perhaps not as cold, but definitely more badass.

Yes. I know it's just some pics but I'm really stoked for this!

Wouldn't hold my breath. MS is actually publishing now, not Square, so while possible, there is still no clear path for that to happen.

Can you link the source? The last I saw, which was Microsoft at Gamescon followed by that terrible interview Phil a Spencer did with Eurogamer, Microsoft are publisher on Xbox 360 and One. That's all.

Also, the article itself says the Devs want it to come to all consoles. The timed exclusivity has been repeatedly confirmed. It will come to ps4, just not this fall. Thats the news uptill now.

Game Informer has an good article with more information Rise of the Tomb Raider, including a four minute interview with game director, Brian Horton.

There is now a full animal ecosystem in place which is tied into the equipment upgrade system. You will get to track and hunt animals and there is also a time of day and weather system that will affect which animals appear at which times.

Is this a open world based game - now? Admittedly, I haven't played TR since the 90's. :/
Technically the 2013 reboot was open world in that you could, for the most part, revisit past areas with new abilities and explore parts of the areas you couldn't get to before. But the design of the topography, which I guess is designed with a view to funnelling you this way then that way as you progress through the game, meant it doesn't feel open world in the way that GTA or Far Cry is because you often couldn't go from A to F, you have to go via B, C, D and E.
