Quantum Break [XO] (by Remedy) *large images*

Is this a cut scene , is it real time or not ?
Can it sustain this quality , i mean the cost must be huge ...

Those art assets........Those facial expressions.....that detail and lighting.................Simply amazing!

Its not new, on real video You can clearly see that its possible, because assets arent really out of the world. But this cutscene looks amazing and is definitely achievable in-game.
I personally dont like the color grading they use [their sepia looks terrible], and even though lighting looks glorious, HDR is overblown too much.
I'm really looking forward to real gameplay from this game, it definitely has big potential, at least from technical standpoint.

The physics and effects also look outstanding! If not precalculated consider me blown away
I still cant believe thats real time

I'm excited about this one. Big fan of Remedy. I hope that over the shoulder view in that animated gif (where he's firing his gun at a car and it explodes) is real time.

They are also striving for new levels of realism, employing 9 cameras for facial capture.

Quantum Break developer Remedy Entertainment has licensed the use of DI4D facial performance capture software. Developer by Scottish company Dimensional Imaging, the tech records facial movements and acting performances using a series of nine cameras at once.

It follows confirmation that Quantum Break will see gamers playing as the villain from time to time.

There’s also this four-second gameplay clip that seems to have got a lot of people very excited.

Now, in a press release issued by Dimensional Imaging, the company explained, “DI4D is able to derive super high definition facial motion capture from an array of nine standard video cameras, without using markers, makeup or special illumination. Remedy will use DI4D™ software to process facial performance capture in Quantum Break.”
It makes sense, seeing as Quantum Break will run tandem to its live action TV series. It will enable greater parity between the actors in the show and their digital counterparts.

In an attached statement, Remedy creative director Sam Lake said, “Quantum Break is a hugely ambitious project that combines action and narrative components in a unique way to bring the characters to life. The only way to achieve the high quality of performance was to create highly realistic digital doubles of talented actors. By using Dimensional Imaging’s DI4D facial performance-capture solution combined with Remedy’s Northlight storytelling technology we can ensure that every nuance of the actors’ performances are captured on screen.”

Colin Urquhart, CEO of Dimensional Imaging added, “We are delighted that Remedy are planning to use the DI4D system for even more facial performance capture in Quantum Break. This provides further evidence that our DI4D solution not only delivers the enhanced quality of facial performance capture required for ambitious next generation games, but that it also provides an efficient production ready pipeline. We can’t wait to see more awesome animation like Remedy showcased in their Quantum Break E3 trailer!”

@Dr Evil:
LOL! So true.

On topic: yeah , so i was remebering right. DMM is the same tech which was used in the Force Unleashed games. They must have improved it by now.

My guess from the little footages is that there is standard gameplay and then special moments, where time pauses n u make decisions or investigation. These seem to usually happen in the midst of paused explosion or crash or something spectacular.
Have they talked about any release time frame?
