But why does a game want to feel like a TV show? It would have been much better if it gave me a recap if I am playing after a few days. Like if I fire up the game now, frankly I have forgotten what I was just doing in it. A recap when I start the game would be awesome
, but I won't get it. Instead, after 20 mins of gameplay it will suddenly recap everything I just did and it won't be my gameplay either. Maybe they want me to play one episode at a time, not more than that. Weird, when games are made so that you stay glued to your seat, they want you to stop periodically? Maybe their intent was right, but it doesn't work , it breaks the immersion completely. I hate TV shows, I love games.
...and the narration would be nice, it was the awesomesauce of Max Payne, but I have to stare at a page while he narrates it all
. If they have voice-acted the whole page, why do i have to stare at the page, I can just listen while the narration can keep playing while I can move around and look for supplies.
so, its a game trying to be a novel and a TV show. Maybe thats why , even though it has amazing atmosphere, a sucker for atmosphere I am, I am unable to get hooked. I am just finding it okay. Hoping it will get better later, right now it feels too text/narration/voice heavy for a game.
