Today, Microsoft Studios announced that the highly-anticipated action-adventure Quantum Break will launch in 2016.

“With so many Xbox One games launching this year, moving Quantum Break to 2016 extends our incredible portfolio into next year with a monster new IP,” said Shannon Loftis, Head of Publishing at Microsoft Studios.

“We’re really proud to be part of the incredible Xbox One line-up,” said Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy. “We thank our fans for their patience, and want them to know that the team is taking advantage of this opportunity to polish and fine tune the game to create the kind of standout entertainment experience they’ve come to expect from us.”

Getting extra polish time to make #QuantumBreak as awesome as possible! Thanks for your patience. Early 2016.

It's a damn shame it isn't releasing this year. But I guess it's for the best. Take your time Remedy.

fable , halo , forza ?

I'm glad they delayed it , I'm sure they needed more time in the oven for it.

Is Halo still 2015? That is good.

I am a big Fable fan...but I need to see which direction this new title goes.

Forza...don't care.

So for me, I really miss QB in 2015 :(

GDC on QB

Fantastic piece on their Audio, some parts on their graphics engine, a lot on UMBRA middleware. I know a lot of us were talking about 'where is the improved audio???'
Nicely implemented in QB. Really good occlusion on the audio. so good. heh

Really excited to hear this one on my system ;)

Yeah game looked great but shadows look iffy (in the 3:47 part specifically), stream compression was too much too. Hopefully they'll release it on gamersyde.

Some screens, they seem native res & direct feed but have incredible amount of blur applied (maybe the AA is to blame?)

The gamescom footage looked great. Best lighting in any game ever.

funny how you get up in arms when others say similar things, you once wrote:

There's a big difference between "I like it the best" and "it is the best". The first is a matter of personal preference, the second is a factual statement. The biggest problem to me are the hyperbolic comments used as attempts to legitimize the latter which only serve to unfairly undermine the competition.

So you like the lighting right?

The game looks good, but a bit busy - they are using the time effects too much and the gameplay and flow get broken up.

Do we know if the show will be included on disc? What if people play the game after the show is finished?

I like it and is also the best. You can contest it if you want. Why do I think it's the best simple?

Dynamic day-night cycle, realtime GI, realtime volumetrics for all light types (omni, spot, directional). We've seen this in The Order but only for baked lights.

See? That's a factual argument, not fanboy hyperbole.

I just hope they change the AA before release. The press shots have too much blur applied on them and it's hurting the textures (ground/characters/materials). SSS use also looks weak, but the lighting is definitely impressive if it's running everything real time. I also like how they use CA (yes i know) for the time travel stuff, i think that looks great.
