Also, QB is a MS ip, unlike Alan Wake.
Well the game's not exactly done yet now is it ;-) But yeah we had some bugs there back then, many of them addressed already along with lots of other improvements.
Visual bugs aside, we actually stumbled upon a fairly reproducible crash bug in the stage demo when it was too late to fix it Was then too nervous to watch our bit in the keynote. Had to hide behind a chair in the meeting room where everyone had gathered and then when it didn't crash, did a victory lap around the office and got really, really drunk
Bah, so chances of future re-release on PC are zero then.
Remedy has uploaded the video vimeo.
The quality is much better and it doesn't have the black crush that is present in the IGN vid.

Yes we can
16 minutes of some sheer awesomeness in there. This generation is reaching one octave scale up by the day.Remedy has uploaded the video vimeo.

I kinda agree (is it confirmed that the game doesn't run at 1080p?), and this screenshot describes quite perfectly what one can feel when watching those graphics.I must say that despite not being a 1080p this game looks truelly next gen. All the assets and the effects are what you would expect from a next generational leap. It makes the point of 1080p meaningless when the trade offs give these results
Can you gives us any details on what anti-aliasing method is being utilized in the extended gameplay build? Or does that also fall under the NDA wraps?
I'm not quite sure actually about the NDA. But we're mulling over a potential GDC talk on various bits and bobs in the tech. If that doesn't materialize we'll at the very least write a blog post on some of the stuff.
EDIT: I should probably get off my arse one of the days and get a firm understanding what I can and can not say...
Oh nice! You guys doing a GDC talk or blog post about the tech in QB would be great. Kind of like how Lionhead wrote a blog about their global illumination tech in Fable Legends.
And don't worry if you don't know what you can and can't talk about. I don't want to get you in trouble. I was just curious about the anti-aliasing tech is all. You could have given me the silent treatment and I would have understood . But it's great that you're here doing your best to answer all our questions. Really appreciate it!
I try to imagine sitting in front of that video and analyzing shadow penumbras.
I fail completely.
The game looks blurrier than usual
Yeah I hope they keep a decent native frame buffer for an otherwise stunning game, would be a shame if annoying upscaling gets in the way.Usually, games aren't compressed to 6.5Mbit/s video though. Toss in the temporal AA, post-fx, & overall darkness, and it should not be a surprise.
Anyways, the early part of the video indoors just before heading outside definitely does not point to a drastic reduction in resolution, nor do the various thin geometry power lines indicate anything awry.
