PSP Go

ngmoco went on record saying that there will be no 3GS-exclusive games and that guy thinks the iPhone changes everything.

Excellent, I hope all the major iPhone studios feel that way. I just bought a mac (ugh) to make iPhone apps, and if the major players ignore 3GS then it will leave it wide open for us indie folk :)

Hey Joker, you're still doing your day job right? Or are you planning to be the next Jonathon Blow?

Yeah still doing games during the day for now. Started one side business that really took off, so figured I'd start a second one doing iPhone stuff. I doubt I'll be the next Jonathon Blow though :) I don't really want to go after gamers anyways, it's the female audience that I want to target.

If you're married, it'll help and if you're not married it'll help you find someone. I say its a perfect win/win you've got there going down that path. :D

Huh ? PSP Go mini-app or PSP mini-app ? Why limit it to PSP Go only ? Why start from zero base ? This is to tap on the homebrew people right ?

Can I run the app in the virtual PSP in Home ? (Well, it used to be there).

Is ad hoc network supported ?

Where are you getting the PSP Go! only angle here? I don't see anything in the article or any reason it won't be supported on all models of the PSP.

I don't know why this is being reported like a rumor. It's really just the logical extension of their new digital distribution strategy. So here's a big fat, "no duh!"

The article doesn't say it's restricted to PSP Go, but the title seems to imply a new category of app called "PSPgo app". You're probably right to say that it's for all PSPs.

As expected, PSP Go will take advantage of the larger memory:

I wonder if its web browser will use a virtual memory system. The one on PSP-1000 can run out of memory when viewing complex web pages.

If i had to pick between my PSP and my old K750 Mobile phone the choice would be my Mobile Phone. The Opera Mini Browser makes it possible to browse while the PSP is so slow and cumbersome it almost hurts. If Sony teamed up with Opera they could have a powerfull browser that actually matched the slickness of the PSP. At least the PS3 browser is becoming usefull. I can watch flash streams from forexample justin.tv and ustream, it came in handy during E3 :)

Any improvment on the PSP Browser would be more than welcome :)

Yeah, the NetFront web browser doesn't work as well as WebKit or Opera. I was surprised Amazon Kindle uses it too. May be it's cheap. :)

I'd love to see a WebKit one. Attended WWDC, the HTML5 support is amazing.

Here it is, PSPGo in pieces :)

I'm rather impressed by Sony's aggressive PSP software release. Besides GT PSP, Eye of Judgment, Ivizimals, LittleBigPlanet, Assassin's Creed, Dirt 2, the following titles are also coming this fall:

* Rockband: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/08/27/rock-band-unplugged-on-the-pspgo/

* MotorStorm: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/08/27/motorstorm-arctic-edge-lunatics-unite-on-psp-september-29/

* Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars: http://twitter.com/RockstarGames/status/3542376970

It's like a full console launch. >8^)

I think they managed some serious cost reductions on the component side.
The rumours of a PSP-4000 replacing the PSP-3000 are probably true.

I hope so, I dont think I`m the only one who thinks of the PSP Go as an unappealing cramped design. But it looks very sexy naked :LOL:

I noticed these unboxing videos, and they showed me a feature I was not yet aware of. Looks like that you can basically savestate your game to the internal memory and then go do something else on the psp and return to your game later. That's pretty neat.
