[PS3] Uncharted 2

Whatever I set it to, it doesn't change anything. I've tried all the settings and the mic always pics up background noise.

My brother had his paired, but when he turned it on it was like it wasn't working at all. When I spoke on my mic the audio would play through his speakers like hsi mic wasn't on. But if he want to manage bluetooth devices, the mic was showing with the blue dot beside it, and when he turned the mic on he got a message in the top right saying his mic was detected or something. We're both using the official bluetooth headset.

Oh, I just found the manual online. It's nice that the product didn't come with the full manual. It says that there are advance features that only work if you pair using the USB cable. Did not know that, so I'll try it out when I get home.

Aye, always pair with the USB first, and then detach.

Had a quick game last night. When the teams are closely matched, the game is fantastic. We were always 1-2 kills away and taking lead from each other until 50 deaths. I was the last guy who delivered the final kill, and we won (Yay !). Immediately went to my cinema and protected the video :)

The controls felt more natural now and I finally have a game with 1.0 K/D ratio (Overall still negative T_T). I like how the characters will grunt and mumble in critical times. The online UI is really effortless to use. Very very excellent job.

Didn't know this either - good to know, because one of these is underway to my house as well. :)

Have you played much Objective based modes? They are a whole lot more fun to me and for some reason im much better at them, my K/D ratio increases considerably over Deathmatch. Chain reaction is great once you learn the sequence of the capture points.

Nope, only tried deathmatches exclusively so far. In fact, I have only played on 2-3 maps to date. I heard there are 7 altogether.

I can only recall thier being 4 maps plus the one co-op map. Definately recommend playing some Plunder its really great and you realy feel like a team when you start throwing the treasure around to eachother and lay down covering fire. Best implementation of CTF ive ever played i think..

Just beat the co-op level on hard. Which went surprisingly well for a game without headsets. As long as all players cover a spawnpoint each, it's fine.

Hi,

I just got back from playing the single player demo at TGS.
All I can say is that it was absolutely stunning. It was the
same section in Nepal(?) that we have seen so many times
before, but to see the actual screen, and not video, was a
sight to behold.

I usually don't care too much about drops in FPS or screen
tear, but the fact that Uncharted 2 has absolutely none
makes it look incredibly smooth.

The other thing that really impressed me was the A.I.
They have definitely leveled-up since the previous installment.
A.I. was flanking, charging, grouping, and climbing all over
the place to get me. Unfortunately I was unable to figure out
how to vault over the shielded soldiers shield, or throw the
gas canister, so I got my ass handed to me several times.

I have a online Golden Gun download code if someone wants
to trade an online MP code:p Not that great of a deal I know,
but P.M. me if you're interested.

Oninotsume

BTW: Pixel Junk shooter was the sleeper hit of the show.
Amazing game.

Best U2 news for me ! Thanks for the heads up.

Ha ha, I have been waiting for this game since FatPrincess. I still play FP everyday before I leave my office. Shooter will be a worthy title in my PSN collection.

I once said that the MP is not competitive enough or good enough to give it long legs like Gears of War..that was after I played the first beta.

Now that I have played the Demo extensively for so many days...I must take back my words. The online in this game is brilliant & EXTREMELY well made it not just your avg. Multiplayer portion slapped on a SP game.

I think the multiplayer is good enough that it should have legs. Other than multiplatform, there really isn't any competition on the PS3. On top of being good, they're filling a niche that really hasn't been filled yet by an exclusive. My preference is for the co-op portion of the game. The competitive portion doesn't really appeal to me.

Depends on what you're after. I kinda jump around these days. My friends are spread across a few shooters.

U2 MP has very focused, intense play cycle; very close to RFOM in terms of "stickiness". That's saying a lot. If the teams are well matched, it is very fun and exciting to play. I think compared to FPSes, it requires a little more skills to start. I am still a noob there and haven't seen it all yet. Most people I know are just starting to get into it.

If you are looking for an FPS with a convincing war zone feel, then I think Killzone 2 is more immersive and chaotic (Ha ha). Visuals and effects are through the roof. I believe Kittonwy, Phil (concepticus-US), keyn (JardeL), and Lagspike (Lagspike_exe) are frequent guests there.

If you're after fast paced, more "twitchy" strafing and shooting in a SciFi FPS (like UT3 and RFOM), then go for Resistance 2. It also has an interesting and very innovative co-op setup. You can join gazsix (Forgot his B3D nick) and tha_con here.

Socom is a more serious FPS that pulled a few of my best ex-RFOM players there. eFertlisdotcom never left Socom after that. T_T
You need to be very good here. I was always the first one who got killed and had to watch the rest play.

Warhawk is another favorite. Not sure if slider and Shifty are still playing it. I can't get into it. I also can't get into Battlefield for other reasons.

I'd say U2 MP has the most polished experiences and uniform quality of the lot. I actually feel spoiled while playing it (like eating too much ice cream). Was playing with a 360 dude watching me yesterday. He kept nitpicking it until I showed him feature by feature what U2 MP is about, then he kept quiet and left (Last words, "Baah... may be I'm just too harsh on games"). ^_^

I am waiting for MAG to see if the dedicated server experience can replicate my RFOM days. ^_^

My opinions, after playing it a couple of hours and I must say the "normal" modes DM etc., are "only" good, for such an AAA title not enough, IMO... Also, searching for new games etc., take way too long in my opinion.

The co-op modes are very good but there are enough quirks to fix in the next patches etc. (host disconnects, you loose all the cash aquired in that game).

Anyway, I would´ve preferred if they used the time to improve the single player, nowadays, everything and its dog need multiplayer, way too often. If it would be at least innovative like in Demon´s Souls, but no, it´s always DM, CTF, co-op et al.

Too bad UT3 PS3 mod capability was not used enough so I doubt anyone else will invest time/resources to make a mod capable FPS/third person shooter multiplayer game so soon.

Uncharted 1 is my favorite PS3 game so far, so Uncharted 2 will be a must buy in any case, even if the multiplayer is the worst since mankind (which it certainly isn´t).

Haven't fired it up in months. Would like U2 but really don't think I'll have the time to go online much with it. :(

They did improve the SP...constant interviews stating the MP didn't damage their SP development. They hired guys specifically for MP. Played Uncharted 2 SP? No.

I couldn't go back to Warhawk (esp after CoD4 and then Killzone 2)...and I used to love it. I think i struggle to transition between games in MP...and I like to be the best lol.
