What's voice-chat like in this game? The Digital Foundry coop gameplay has the characters talking, which makes it more movie-like, but isn't condusive to teamwork. Can we actually talk tactics with teammates?

I got my MP demo code from the GameStop shop where I preordered the game. Downloading @ 43% now.
I've been avoiding watching the videos as to not spoil anything for myself and I think I may have forgot how good the game looks. I know this is beating a dead horse by now (and I've probably posted something like this before) but just from watching the co-op clip on there all I can say is wow.
Everything from the movements to the sounds of the guns (I particularly loved the new AK sound) to the animations and the graphics, this has to be the biggest improvement I've seen for a sequel on next gen console yet. Simply amazing.
October needs to get here faster!
You guys made me preorder the game.
And I still have games to finish....
And I am running out of money....
I hate you
UC2 mp is decent at best but its not going to be anywhere near as good as Halo, Battlefield,COD mp is.Though, Im getting UC2 because the campaign mode looks to be much better then the original. Also, co-op with a friend is going to be alot of fun to have.
yep, does everything you'd expect and want to. PS Eye works good with it too' but I finally decided to get the officiaal headset from play.com anyway since it's pretty cheap now.
Be careful there ! Take care of yourself first. NaughtyDog has enough fans to support them. OTOH, if you don't look after your own needs, few people will.
You can always wait a little longer to play a cheaper U2.
Errr... I don't think it's wise to compare a third person shooter + stealth/sabotage map with the other FPS or even run-n-gun shooter maps. Have you played the game ?
Yes, I am using PS Eye at home to connect to U2 online. I should turn up the volume to see if there is serious echo or not.
It's my opinion (hence the 'I've' part). If you don't agree with it that's fine but no need to throw baseless accusations around.
Yes, I have played the UC2 mp beta and I think its decent but nothing mindblowing to be honest with you. But, if you guys are having a ton of fun with it, then thats pretty cool.Im getting UC2 for the campaign and co-op experience and having a decent mp component is a nice thing to have as well.Overall, UC2 is a good overall package with nice value.
Phil, when I called you a ps3 only fanboy, I was just being sarcastic.Next time, I will put a sarcasm tag.My apologizes if you thought I was being a douchebag towards you.
I personally think what they have achieved so far is a rare feat. Will have to play the final game to decide whether it's a "good overall package with nice value" or a "ZOMGWTFBBQ" title.
I've just started to explore the maps. Still learning the controls and weapon handling. Got pulled off the cliff by one guy and shot up like bee hive in general. It's too early for me to say how much I will enjoy it. So far it's pretty interesting alright. ^_^
The U2 online platform reminds me of KZ2 and Resistance in various aspects. The auto-record is useful as a learning tool. All I know right now is I need to practise and equip myself with some boosters. Also need to try other game modes. I have only touched on deathmatch so far.
You can set up a game in machinima mode. I did that with deepbrown though we had friendly fire off, and it's probably more fun with that on (rocket launchers still work though). But this basically puts you in a map with no enemies, and you are free to explore (or to make home movies ).
Deathmatch is the most fun mode in some way because it's the easiest way to level up, and get personal feedback. As a team-game though, stuff like capture the idol is a lot of fun. There are quite a few modes in the different categories, and I really enjoy most of them. I had a good co-op session with deepbrown yesterday. It was a bit short (or it felt short?), but quite enjoyable.
I liked by the way that when I looked at my friends online, I could see you were in an online game, what kind of online, and most importantly, about how long the match would take before it was finished. This allowed me to judge that I could play one game before your game was finished, and this turned out to be exactly right (which was partly luck of course, but it was a 48-50 score match, so very close).
Yeah, what the hell were we doing in that Machima? lol Was weird. Like hide and seek, but we couldn't die.
The co-op is my fave - there's also endless but I think you need three people.
Our co-op was short cause we actually worked together and it was on medium. When on hard you need three people to get through (and then there's crushing when you complete hard). But can never find another person to play with (cause patsu's being a useless family man )
