[PS3] Uncharted 2

But then the shots are in night time with many dark areas and limited colored surfaces. When I take screenshots having a night type screenshot uses far less disk space yet retains same jpg compression quality as a day shot with more colors and detail visible/pronounced. Ofcourse the day shot is significantly bigger in size vs night shot for same jpg compression quality.
I don't know why you're raising disk space. I certainly never mentioned it as a consideration. I was just pointing out that ordinarily when games on console offer JPEG grabs, the quality suffers somewhat. This is a first-rate JPEGing with almost no variation from source. It's certainly better than PSP's JPEG export at very best quality. ND have gone with quality over compression which is a rarity. It means any screens we see from players uploaded at full quality will be extremely accurate. Pixel counting made easy! ;)

Whoa there!

Indeed it is high quality jpgs. The thing was that a shot with lots of dark areas/little color will have less loss going from png/reference capture to jpg as opposed to a colorful shot with little darkness and more details highlighted. Always been that for me.

Written review is out:
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/102/1026373p1.html

9.5 Presentation
Fantastic cutscenes tell a very good if not perfect story.
10 Graphics
Absolutely the best of the best these days. Your jaw will drop.
9.5 Sound
Great weapon effects, fantastic voice acting and a mostly brilliant (though sometimes overdone) soundtrack.
9.5 Gameplay
Great gunplay, stealth works very well (mostly), the puzzles are rewarding and, maybe even best of all, a killer online component.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
The game is give or take about 10 hours in length, which feels right, but then there's the multiplayer. Yes, you will be hooked.

To be honest, I haven't been paying much attention to UC2 because I knew it was going to be good and I'm definitely buying it. But I just watched the video review and I'm seriously blown away!

Really tempted to watch the review but, thusfar, I've even avoided the new beta cos I want it to remain fresh when I first play it. Damn internet makes it really difficult though.

You are making yourself a very tempting target. :devilish:

This is going to sound very cold... but I can't believe you don't have a code! I've passed it to my bro too (he has my account info saved on his machine - I think that's a pre-requisite to sharing) so not sure if that'll effect things? If you can answer conclusively you can have it.

EDIT: DrJay24 may be your saviour. Let me know though. :)

This may be the game to make me buy a PS3.

Then again I'm still far behind on 360 games, so it may have to wait a little ;)

How do you get the code? I got one for the earlier MP beta, I assume they are different.

I got my MP demo code from the GameStop shop where I preordered the game. Downloading @ 43% now.

I've preordered and payed it long time ago already and seeing the IGN video review in HD certainly didn't made me regret it! Looks to be top notch all-round. Great graphics, and the variety in environments are very welcome. The gameplay was already good in the first one.
