Ugh. I just cannot make it past all the waves of soldiers in the palace on the next-hardest difficulty. Rico is absolutely useless. He mostly hides behind cover and shoots pillars, so I keep getting flanked. I can make it up until the RPG guys come out, and then either someone gets a lucky headshot on me (the only reason I can think of for why I'm at full health, then die suddenly), or I get caught in the splash of an RPG while someone else is machine-gunning me. All with Rico yelling at me and doing nothing to help.

Yeah, there is, but there is a problem: You can't shoot the rocket guys without actually seeing them. And when they see you, they shoot at you. And when they shoot at you, you have to dodge. And sometimes, when I dodge, I move the wrong way and end up getting blown up.I believe there is a spot upstairs that is safer from the rockets.
Is that a time-based wait? I can't remember when the event happened, but i know from U2 sometimes these games are ridiculous in how they change tact. In U2, some fights require you to fight, and some just require you to survive however long until the next cut-scene kicks in. Which is it with the crash - do you need to kill x number of soldiers before the craft appears, or just hide for 2 minutes? You wait for that landingcraft to crash through the window...

It's not time based, you have to kill a certain amount of enemies before the cutscene kicks in for kz2. As for U2 it's definitely time based and I hate time based combat. Is that a time-based wait? Sometimes! And sometimes it's objective based, although that's getting OT, and I've whinged about it already in the U2 thread. If this is an enemy-kill condition, it means having ot fight people with those annoying rocket-launcher dudes. I know I got frustrated with this last level and I was only playing in 'normal' difficulty. I wouldn't want to take a crack at a harder mode and have this time slog to cap it all off. If only the AI teammate was actually useful! If anything I think he proves how unintelligent KZ2's 'AI' is, but that's similar for all titles. U2's AI companions can be morons to boot.As for U2 it's definitely time based and I hate time based combat.
Ah yes, I should state it only happened a couple of times in U2 for the time based sequence. As for the last level in KZ2, it was very frustrating with Rico being retarded and the relentless rockets. Team mate's AI would need more work but I thought Helghast's AI was pretty exceptional. The way they take cover and flank you create so much challenges especially on Hard. Maybe KZ3 should give you the option to command your squad mates like in Flashpoint.
Do you know what I hate about this game ?
