We’ll make Plus content ALL available at the start of every month, I believe the US may release their content gradually over the month, though I could be wrong
I noticed this in the Head's up post on the EU blog today, is useful to know:
Fieldrunners? A two-year old iPhone game? Seriously?
Fieldrunners is a mini, I believe. So it's probably not _the_ free game of the month, but one of them.
PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to purchase a two year PS3 plan for 25% off (PlayStation Plus price $44.99, original price $59.99) Considering the PS3 one year plan is $44.99, PLUS members get two years for the price of one! In order to qualify for any of the plans, your PlayStation 3 must still be within its one-year original manufacturer’s warranty.
...shows they have confidence in the product I guess.
Ummm, not necessarily. Say the average repair of a PS3 is around $150, then if only 1 in 4 dies in that 2 years, they are in profit. I'm not knocking insurance at all, but it is primarily a money-making exercise. At a 10% failure rate, 100 people signing up to the 2-year insurance would net Sony $3000 in pure profit.
I thought the purpose of playstation plus was to offer additional content to those willing to pay extra. Not trying to sell a subscription by withholding demo's. The demo is supposed to sell me onto the game, not anything else.
If they start pulling this crap so soon, I wonder where we'll be a year from now.
