So, it's been mentioned here how efficient the Vita OS is and how by extension that the PS4 OS should be reasonably slim..
However, I did some digging to find some hard data on figures.. And I'm kind of appalled at the actual reservation for the Vita.
One full core, which we all basically knew, but also 256MB of RAM, leaving 256MB +128MB VRAM available to developers.

I imagine that the majority of this reservation is set aside for potential apps that head into memory.. So a 1GB or above reserve for the PS4 doesn't seem all that bizarre especially depending on what is going on with the In-game recording situation.
