Lord............I sympathize with the cause, but not the group, and then only really where the animal in question is Mammal or something remotely intelligent.
How difficult would it be for some of the rednecks in the south to increase the size of their enclosures, or for the Mafia run Greyhounds at the tracks to be treated with a modicum of humanity.
Those aren't extreme demands by any stretch, yet every time people treat it with derision and give a snide anthropocentric remark.
As far as i'm concerned, the use of fur (from mammals) is just complete arrogance and completely unjustifiable by any ounce of logic.

No actually i am not a hypocrite. First of all i am an atheist. Second of all i ridicule Judaism and Christianity in this forum more than any other religion. Thirdly all my arguments regarding israel have shit to do with religion. Perhaps you ought to read my discussions rather than making fucking stupid claims? But obviously the argument deals with killing animals for the sole point of using them for fur, or other luxury items that serve no purpose other than to increase our vanity.
Particularly so in the case where replicas can be made that look nearly as good as the originals.

I suspect you can find mammals with higher pure reasoning skills than say some severly mentally retarded person, for sure. Yet we don't kill them for or tuck them away in bins where there is no freedom of movement.
Moreover, their abilities are specific to their evolutionary path. They possess faculties that we would never be able to accomplish, including emotions we will never feel. Its highly anthropocentric to pick out the list of *things* that we happen to possess and define superiority based on that.
And if we want to talk about survival of the fittest.. Well, I think most insects are plainly superior to us, as they will be on this planet long after we eat dust. So that line of argument gets us nowhere either.
