Overwatch [PC] Blizzard

My opinion so far is the offensive heroes are all about movement. Move move move. Never be still. Soldier has great movement with that sprint. Even if you're escorting a payload, Move in and out of cover around the payload. You need to be able to think very quickly and aim fast, but you can actually do ok without first rate aim as long as your movement is good. Only heroes I find really tough to fight as Soldier are Reinhardt, because you can't do much to his shield, and Tracer, Lucio because they have even better movement. Maybe Genji too, but if he misses his block he's screwed unless he can escape.

So true.. I have not mastered the reflect skill yet but it's my favorite move. I'm not very good at his ultimate because people run and/or they shoot me while I'm in that ultimate. Another thing is that he moves almost too fast when in ultimate causing me to get disoriented rather quickly when turning to slash.

It's 10 mins but I'd like you guys to offer some suggestions with my play of Genji. I see that I get killed because I'm focusing too much on one player and either a turrent or another player wipes me. Urrghh.
Sure.
So genji is all about back line removal. Things you should know about him before I get into things I notice you don't do that you should be doing.
A) his blade slash refreshes entirely anytime it shows "any type of kill" in bottom middle of the screen. So assists count etc.
B) the blade slash works much like a MOBA based ability would work:: everything you fly through In a particular arc will get hit and take damage. You want to like guys up to hit multiple times.
C) deflect works on just about everything except for Ray based guns

So let's get into it. Genji doesn't have a lot of health his role tiven his mobility is support and defence removal. Tanks are an issue for him generally because he cannot kill them fast enough as they can tank more damage he can burst and he's stuck waiting for his abilities to cool down.

So you need to be running around the map and taking advantage of your climbing and jump slashing into areas that people don't see your attack vector to come from.

Then from there look for squishy people and slash them down in the fastest way possible. Rinse and repeat and avoid enemies head on as much as possible.

If you do run into them head on that is why you have deflect. I should call is reflect actually. Anyway. Turrets and bastion kill themselves when you reflect all their bullets back to them. Just be sure to be aiming st the turret for the reflect to happen.

Reflect, reflect, teflect!!

Next your ultimate usage. So same type of thing the only difference wbtween using your ultimate and not using it is that you are now capable of killing tanks. Because even if your abilities are in cool down your sword is not. So swing kill someone. Blade slash. Swing kill someone blade slash. If you aren't using blade slash and reflect. You are going yo have a tough time contributing to your team and also having a good time with genji.

A good genji is hard to master. It takes a lot time and myself included don't play it well. There's nearly a sixth sense that needs to happen but the general strategy is laid out. Kill the supports and squishies.

Cool thanks man! I'll remember about that slash move. I didn't know it resets faster than the cooldown if you kill someone. Good to know.

Had my best round ever today...with Zarya! I completely dominated and had 2:54min behind the load objective...the other team couldn't find a way to deal with me. Even got POTG...although a lame one I have to admit.

Zarya is super strong for cargo missions: just stay as close as possible behind the load and push it forward!

Today was anyway quite good...3 wins in a row, and one super close, which we lost: overtime, both teams at the last zone with 99%! Intense!

Also used Bastion in a defense mission, worked out quite well...also, turrets of Tjorborn are quite strong when placed such, that I cannot reach it with Junkrat.

This game must be really one of the best balanced FPS games. No hero is OP imo. No hero is really bad...I even saw Winston player messing us up completely. Blizzard really knows how to do this!

Last night we played a team that was triple Winston. Very very difficult. They beat us two games in a row. They had a Reinhardt as well. So there'd be 4 shields up at a time, and the Winstons were alternating their ulties. Then I convinced one of my team to play Mei, someone else switched to Symmetra and I went with Zarya, and suddenly they couldn't do anything to us.

Seen many people use Zarya's Graviton Surge inefficiently (including myself), so I collected a list of instructions...

Before using the Ultimate, ensure that:
1. Your weapon is fully loaded... Surge lasts only for 4 seconds, don't waste 1.5 seconds reloading during it!
2. Your weapon's energy charge is near 100%. Fully charged weapon doubles your damage. Huge difference.
3. You have particle barrier ready. This protects you for 2 seconds, allowing you to kill your opponents before dying. They will shoot back, I promise.

Start shooting particle cannon grenades immediately after you throw the ultimate. Surge draws your opponents together very quickly, there's no need to wait. You have time to shoot exactly four particle cannon grenades during the surge. At max energy, a grenade does 92 damage. 4x 92 damage + 22 dps from the surge = 456 damage to everybody inside. Only full health tanks can survive that. You can finish the remaining tank after the surge, if needed.

Use your particle barrier immediately when they start shooting at you. Don't use the barrier before you throw the surge, as it will only last for 2 seconds. In some locations you can cover behind an obstacle as the grenades and surge both fly over obstacles. As your opponents cannot move and cannot shoot you, you are highly likely to kill them all without any resistance. If you can't hide, use normal evasive maneuvers (strafe, jump, etc). It is also a good idea to throw the surge behind a corner, and use that corner as cover after the shield runs out (repeatedly move in/out behind the corner - once per second - just like you would do in normal game play when spamming particle grenades).

Remember to inform your team ("my ultimate is 100% ready") before using it, so that they can provide support fire or combo with their ultimates, wiping out the whole opposing team. Surge reloads VERY slowly. Wait for the right moment for the best impact (even if you have to die first and respawn).

Update:
Forgot the most important. You own health. My most repeated mistake with graviton surge is to use it as a last ditch effort. Opponents have already killed half our team and are shooting my HP bar down rapidly, and for some odd reason I throw my surge at their whole team thinking I can overpower them with less than 200 HP left and everyone already targeting me.

Best way to get the whole opposing team killed is to use the surge when teams are already shooting each other, but you have just arrived and are still not under attack. This gives you an extra second or two after the surge before they find you, aim and shoot. Remember to delay the the activation of the barrier until you start receiving damage!

Decided to try to figure out what it would take to get a locked 60fps on my macbook pro (i7-4770HQ w/ with Intel Iris Pro 5200). The results are pretty sexy.

Turned everything low or off. Then I set the resolution to 1440x900, which is a nice scaling resolution for the 2880x1800 display ... then I set the renderscale to 50%, which means the game is rendering at 720x450. It looks really really really blurry. It's kind of hilarious. You can barely make out the characters faces on the main menu, but the ui looks real sharp. Lol. That's what it took to get to 60fps.

My first round when stellar as soldier. Got 3 gold medals (eliminations, objective eliminations, damage) a silver (objective time) and a bronze (healing). I tried Doing 1680x1050, but it would drop down to around 50fps sometimes. My first round went stellar. Probably wouldn't do so well as widow or hanzo, because the enemies look like pink blobs at a distance.

Edit:
Overwatch Wii edition.

Playing last night, I'd say any trade offs you can make to get to 60fps are worth it. The game can be so twitchy. My tracking up close was so much better. Circle strafe battles in contest areas went much much better. The only drawback for me having the resolution so low is seeing things in the distance, but I honestly didn't have too hard of a time seeing enemies at range.
