Onimusha 3, Shadow Hearts II and FF X-2 I+L

Tell us a little about the extras you get with HDD.
For example, can you copy your memory card contents on to it, or generally use it for savegames, even in old games?
Can you rip music to it? And last but not least, how much did it set you back, shipping included? :p

Game saves can be copied from/to memory card for sure, you make folders to store them the way you like.

Only the games that specifically programmed to save on the HDD will be able to do that.

You can download demos (only a few), game info and trailers with PS2 BB Navigator (connecting to the game channels) and save them to the HDD for later playing/viewing.

Ripping music is not available.

As I have said, I have had my hard disk for a long time already. I paid around US$230 for it, I bought it from a local import shop. Cannot be a reference to current price (which is around US$120 for an internal BB Unit).

You mean the PS2 HDD ? I am using the external version that only fits SCPH-1xxxx.

Yeah, I meant the harddrive itself, but as you have the external one it would be pretty pointless... Is the external box fanless? I guess the ethernet interface is built into it as well, or how does that work?

The PS2 HDD kit (external) comes with a PCMCIA like card which has a connector for the hard disk and an Ethernet jack. The hard disk has a small fan at the back. I can't say about noise level as the fans in my PC is deadily noisy.

Hey what are the impressions of SH2? I'm eyeing this title, but undecided yet. Gamefaqs isn't too helpful since fans congregate there and tend to produce biased impressions and reviews.

I hadn't expect too much at first after I played the trial version, at that time I think it has nice graphics and the battle (the judgement ring) is different comparing to other RPGs.

Now that I had already finished it more than twice, I think the game is pretty interesting. You had quite a lot of stuffs to unlock and sometimes it is really hilarious. I am still playing it right now, trying to unlock absolutely everything. I think I will need to play at least one more pass.

And it has triggered me to place an order of SH1 to know more about the previous history/story.

No time for Oni 3 and others yet.

BTW, Ghost in the shell SAC has been released but I am still considering if I should get it.

Any info?

Now that i think about it, there's a 99% possibility that it will be a crappy cash-in on the franchise, and anyway it won't be released in Europe... Oh well...

Still.... Any info?

Thanks for the reply.

 I don't think I'll ever be able to set aside time like that.

I played the first, and felt that it was just OK. A 7/10 at most. *Maybe* just a 6/10. From what I know Aruze had a team of over 70 for SH2 after an acquisition - can't remember whether they were acquired or they acquired another studio. Anyway from some discussions I can get off Gamefaqs the sequel is significantly better.

Do you know anything about SD Gundam Generation Seed? I'm on the fence with this as well. Wondering whether I should wait till May for SRW:MX.

Well i only saw the "movie" thing that was released here, got it on DVD.... How's the TV series? Does it continue on the story in the movie or is it completely unrelated to it?

The stories are independant.

The TV series is pretty interesting. I have all the released DVDs of the series (movie and TV series, genuine copies, ha ha).
