Exactly, there is no choice. One memory card is necessary, and when you buy a second one down the road sometime, you're basically up to the cost of the premium package.
The overpriced peripherals make it a double slap in the face. Wireless controller for $50 without a battery pack and play/recharge cable? Please. Maybe $39 without, but for $50 those items should be included. They probably cost MS a couple bucks.
I was lead to believe the 360 was a HD console with wireless controllers and a HDD standard at launch. The Core system is none of these things and is a joke.
