Official Microsoft PR thread

As I said we don't know when these comments were made. We don't even know if they aren't more than internet fans posting tha they heard this or that and it snowballed into more .

For instance how do we know these dev comments weren't made back when the x360 had 255 megs of ram ? Certianly now with 512megs of ram those claims are invaliditated .

I have no doubt that the ps3 will be more powerfull. Just not powerfull enough to matter

I think I went overboard to trying to prove my point, i wasn't trying to spread some "mis-information"...Sorry guys, i didn't mean to cause such stir...poor word choices and lack of sources. Just ignore my last post lol.
What I was trying to say was that whole industry is came to the point of accepting that PS3 will be offering little more than X360 and no one was disputing with that except Microsoft, it wasn't such a big issue until PRs by ATI and MS came out and saying X360 will outperform PS3...and that caused some stir among some gaming community..it is just that microsoft's PR are so unconvincing to me right now. Until proven otherwise, I am probably gonna assume that PS3 will be little better than X360 right now, in terms of "final output".

I'm surprised that the interviewer ask this.
Q So far, developers working on both platforms tell us that hardware wise, the PlayStation 3 is more powerful than the Xbox 360.
Sounds like word is getting around. Yet this is Todd's answer.
Don't believe that. Journalistic interviewers are invariably antagonistic, trying to get a story - not facts. Hence all the questions put to KK about XB360, and vice versa. Could well be the interviewer heard ONE dev say PS3 was more powerful (misinterpretation? Dev was talking about one aspect only?) and spun that into a global statement with which to throw at MS and push them into a corner to see how they react.

Don't trust journalists.
