Oculus Meta Quest 3

I didn't know that I needed one until now, and still don't know why.
Does it have a "safe area" feature when playing in vr to signal when you are moving too close to a wall or furniture?

you should watch some video reviews, or try it before buy, if you can.

But there are now a lot of good games and non gaming apps (around 400 on the Meta quest official store, and many more on sidequest), hard to not find something you'd like.
For VR enthusiasts it's definitely worth the price, for causual players, maybe a bit expensive. Let's see how the rumors of a 2024 Quest 3 lite turn out.

Nice tech

i think that's similar to what was used in L.A Noire but for the whole body, and will be used in the VR remake of the 7th Guest.

I wonder why it's lower quality than Jonathan bell vr in psvr. Different scan methods with Sony?

I have a Mi VR Play 2, it's just a headset where you put in your smartphone.
At fisrst it was cool, after less than a month I put it away bored and never took it away.

Does the quest live up to the 499 or there are too few good contents?
Is there a real not gaming application? I've seen the ar movie watching, but it's too impractical.
I need to motivate myself to spend the money :ROFLMAO:

It got all kinds of games and apps but if you are looking for a fully polished quality then there are much less....

For example, quest even got games that are obviously made not for mass appeal, like an anime vr concert thing, kizuna ai VR. But it's more like tech demo rathe than a real game or experience. While psvr got Hatsune Miku vr.

Way too many games also got very tedious intro that cannot be skipped, and presented in a very condescending and boring way.

But if you stick to first and 2nd party games, the quality and accessibility are usually quite good.

played an hour, it's a good remake, the original feeling and atmosphere is here, but this time you are "inside" the house !
But there is no proper Quest 3 version yet, so i think i'll wait a bit to play more, they said the Quest 3 update should come in the coming weeks.

Is it possible to play all the games purchased via Oculus store for the Oculus Rift on this? E.g. Beat Saber? Or would I have to re-purchase those games?

I'm toying with the idea of getting one as I'm still on a Rift and I figure this would be a big upgrade for relatively small cost.

I don't think there are "headset exclusive" VR games on PC, it's either PCVR or Quest libraries, and some games are crossbuy between PC and Quest.

Cheers, I did a little research and it appears you actually need the Oculus app to connect the Quest 3 to PC anyway. Reading up on it a bit I'm seriously tempted to get one. Looks like it would be a huge upgrade over my Rift in pretty much every way.
