NVIDIA GF100 & Friends speculation

That slide is pretty funny, and only temporarily accurate as well, as ATi is adding stereoscopic support for single and multiple monitors with the next Catalyst revision, I believe. Also, shouldn't they be comparing to the 5970 for the "world's fastest performance" column?

Their car thing is getting much better though in speed at least. Soon it will be a stuttering mess instead of a slideshow :)

In my opinion this looks way too amateurish to be real: the stupid car instead of the check is the first clue, but the space before the exclamation mark in the title really gives it away.

sarcasm aside, maybe it can be useful for niche, high end near-real-time visualisation.
I'm thinking about the well-known monster "sunflower" and "powerplant" scenes

"because we can" is a good enough reason also!
or maybe cutting the grass under Intel's future Larrabee?

Ah man .. don't don't don't spoil it! "You can Have it All!" is a slogan NV recently started using for multiple platforms. It's in the Ion2 Guides and it can be found in the most recent GF100 banners too. Whomever made it did pay good attention. (the CAN in capitals is from the "upcoming geforce advertisement)

Don't get me wrong, I think it is super cool. I think it is cool b/c of what it represents (in terms of GPUs becoming more flexible) and just b/c it looks neat. Their idea of attaching it to games like NFS so you could pose your "ride" is a good sort of niche for it now. I was just joking about the idea that it will be in a game anytime soon.

I've made that mistake too many times to count. Now I've simply lowered my standards drastically for what to expect from these companies. Amateurish seems to be the order of the day.

Oh, well, if it's not, I'm sure you could come up with a timing system where it does come out to 666...

*checks posts above...nothing worthwhile continues OT....*

In numerology 666 equals to 6+6+6=1+8=9 (and often referred to the 'beast'...errr no not Rys
888 is the number of the Messiah 8+8+8 = 2+4=6 the exact opposite :p

Agreed, and it's slipped pretty heavily for both of them in the last couple of years. Big sigh, especially since it wouldn't surprise me if it's legit. That said, if it is, I doubt the tech marketing group saw or approved it. It's too retarded for Tony or Nick to let out into the wild. At least I have to hope that's the case

Anyway, back on topic if possible, folks. I know it's hard, but I think everyone has it in them! I've had to clean up some serious detritus in here in the last day or so, and it's becoming hard to let the more borderline stuff go.

Fire up another thread in the appropriate forum if you want to deviate from things. Cheers.

psolord: I Already posted the screenshot of how the page looked before they were caught in the act.
Btw, their new calculation of 42% advantage is pretty funny :)

Yes, I burst out laughing when I figured out how they got that figure :D

Seriously, the sheer amount of nonsense about tech coming from people who don't have a clue is frightening.

Second-tier graphics card makers are unlikely to start mass shipments of their Nvidia GeForce GTX 480/470-based (Fermi) graphics cards until April despite that Nvidia plans to announce the GPU on March 26 since most of the them have not yet received complete reference board designs, according to sources from graphics card makers.

The sources expect Nvidia will give supply priority to first-tier makers or makers that only produce Nvidia cards. Makers including XFX and PNY are already offering pre-orders for these upcoming cards with GTX 480 priced at around US$679.99 and GTX 470 at about US$499.99.

Some market watchers originally expected AMD to drop its graphics card price to counter the launch of Nvidia's new cards, but since the prices of Nvidia cards are higher than AMD's existing cards, watchers now believe any price war between the two chip makers is unlikely to start until after May.

Uh...April is the third day - and the first business day - after March 26...so they're saying mass shipments won't start until the next business day? ;)

Haha :)

Well, the tone of the article clearly indicates that they don't expect mass shipments until at least mid-late April.
