Nvidia DLSS 1 and 2 antialiasing discussion *spawn*

I'd love to see Halo Infinite get DLSS and nvidia reflex. The game is massively gpu heavy and it's hard not to be gpu limited on an RTX3080. I think everything low/off I can get stable 140Hz on small maps at something like 2144x1206. The graphics look better than most games on low, but it really doesn't feel like it's running as well as it could for how it looks and how small the maps are. I think the best I can get is a locked ~185fps at 51% render scale, and it will still be gpu-limited at times. Game is begging for DLSS.

AMD promo says nah.

sucks. Game has terrible input lag. Best top cap frame rate where your gpu will still below 96%. Game feels terrible otherwise. Problem is the game is so gpu heavy you have top cap fairly low unless you have a really high end card. FSR would be nice too. I think the game already does some kind of reconstruction. Reflex would be a huge addition because I wouldn’t have to worry about capping.

Good but why would they replace CAS with FSR? These are not mutually exclusive features. CAS can and should be used with TAA and native resolution rendering.

Hmm. The rocks and terrain in the first pics seem to have more detail with dlss. Distant folliage in the others seems to be more defined without dlss and more blended in with dlss. But other very distant small bushes seem more complete with dlss.

It is now possible to get a 1440p/ 144 hz experience with DLSS at quality or a 4k at 120 hz experience with DLSS at performance. Using console settings, above that it doesnt hold. 4k with perf dlss has a 45% framerate improvement over native, with ultra details.

They also removed the shader compilation being shown in the menu so i just had to wait in the menu until the cpu and case fans stoped screaming :))

Thanks for the pics. So it still does the shader compilation stage during the menus? I was actually concerned from the patch notes that pre-compiling was no longer an option, I think it should always be presented to the user as a selection if they so choose.

Wonder if they fixed the texture bugs beyond 1080p on cards with 6GB or less. Surprising though that they updated it at all, guess work on Forbidden West is winding down a bit.

Normally with TAA I'd always like the option to add sharpening, but there's significantly more shader aliasing with HZD's PC TAA implementation than there is on console for some reason. CAS just made it worse, but now if you want to scale your image you're getting sharpening with FSR and no control - lots of shader aliasing now, looks pretty bad.

From reports though DLSS improves this significantly, as of course it's replacing the game's TAA.

I believe HZD applies more negative LOD bias when increasing texture quality setting which makes things shimmer.
