Nvidia BigK GK110 Kepler Speculation Thread

If you can't afford a Titan, then just wait for Nvidia Maxwell next year

Or simply leave NV and their out of common sense pricing and go for the R7970 for 350 €.
There is absolutely nothing special about titan's performance, which R7970 cannot do it. ;)

BTW, it is a very important fight against NV. We have to show them that they cannnot charge whatever their insane minds decide.
This is like a fight against the big evil mafia.

You're saying the exact same thing I'm saying...

No I'm not - you said that with higher temperature target they would have gotten better scores in reviews, while it seems that with this target they get those higher scores in reviews but the real performance drops while gaming

Then go and buy AMD and start complaining when they're selling underwhelming $549 video cards.

Most 7970GE dont come with the stock cooler. I dont think MSI, Asus and other have do a bad job with their cooler.. Take a 7970 MSI Lightning or DCII or any more expensive card with 1100mhz..

Note you can too ofc buy a GTX680, push the Power limit and let it run at 1200mhz.. or wait for the next series from a brand or another...

Anyway im tempted by the Titan, but the price here is just criminal.

If the temperature target is higher, that will impact boost clocks and performance while gaming (not benching), too. I thought that much was clear :)

Aha - you're on a crusade? Don't believe in free markets and stuff? ;-) That said, I don't like pricing on Titan either.

BTW: The Mafia will make you an offer, you just can't refuse. With Titan, you can.

Let's see if you still say that when you find Dawn's head in your bed.

No one is forcing anyone to buy the Titan, period.

I honestly think I got dumber after reading this post.

You don't have to try to be very witty but instead think deeply.

An example for free market is when you have negotiations between a given TV station and cable operators for the price. This is free.
Close to free is also when the government has a direct influence on prices- because it assures that people can afford it.

Nowadays- capitalism is "the real road to slavery". And you know why. Think about it.

It is a proof that the market is not free. It is free only for the corporation but customers cannot decide how much they want to pay for it. ;)

Indeed. For any market to be free the customer must be able to choose how much they want to pay for something completely regardless of supply and demand.

For example, I would like to buy a 6 bedroom town house in central London for £1. The fact that those evil housing companies won't let me is solid proof that the UK housing market is not free goddammit!

I don't think you have any idea what a free market looks like.

That's the exact opposite of a free market.

Have you seen a presentation on the mesh merging? The name reminds me of merge instancing that Humus presented at Siggraph.
I have seen the code ;)

But no, it doesn't have anything to do with what Humus presented (well, maybe remotely).
