Humus is from Sweden. He can teach you about winters I suppose ;-)
But I guess he can use your tips about beer. I heard its very hard to get good beer in Sweden.

Its very hard to get ANY drink in Sweden, at least up North. In Umea, there 2 stores that sell liquor, and they are open 5 hours a day. And beer... don't get me started on Falcon, bleh. Once in a while, we would take a ferry to Vaasa and back on a "Wet trip"

Not only that. Sweden is the only place in the world where you can buy beverages thinner than water; Pripps lett öl :-?

Cheers
Gubbi

There are more ATI people here than OpenGL guy? I know that Doomtrooper's dad work in the PR-department, but other than that...

;)

Seeing as this poll was completely pointless with my admin privelidges (ha!) I've changed the poll and options to be a little more reflective!

Ha! :D :p ;)

Good one, Dave
And, as far as weather is concerned......us Floridians have a real problem with anything below 16c......
Hell......I don't own anything but shorts & Tiva's........

Doh !

I didn't think Sweden got as cold as us...-38°C or so...

-30°C is quite common in the northern parts of Sweden wintertimes. Occationally it dips down to around -40°C, a few years ago we have several days of around -44°C to -46°C. The 10 min ride by bike to the university (didn't live as close then as I do now) wasn't really a pleasure so to speak ;) ... I only did that once, stayed home the other cold days. :)

The southern parts of Sweden doesn't get particularily cold though, they hardly get snow.

Ahhh...

I can picture it now. 5 years in the future. ATI has become a monopolistic power in 3D, and nVidia has closed shop. Industry analysts try to figure out why such the dramatic and quick turn-around. All they really know is things started to go bad for nVidia around the R300 launch. "ATI just had better products"....that must be it.

We at B3D, of course, while in the middle of debating the merits of a 1024 bit bus vs. deferred rendering of the rumored PowerVR Series 4, will immediately recognize the "time around the R300 launch" was not coincidentally the same period of time where nVidia passed on Humus, and ATI scooped him up....

LOL :D
I don't think I'll make that much of an impact ... I'll try though :p

All good things happen for a reason. Aren't you glad Nvidia didn't hire you now?

Well, sure, in some sense at least. I do respect ATi as a company much more than I do with nVidia. I'm also more familiar with ATi tech. I also prefer Canada over the US.

I also prefer Canada over the US.

That reminds me....I failed to mention in my little story, that between now and 5 years in the future, Canada becomes th 51st U.S. State...despite strong protests from Puerto Rico....

Seriously, Good Luck Humus!

Best poll ever!

OpenGL guy, if you spent less time on these forums, maybe my games would crash less!

Sorry, couldn't resist. Not even using an ATI card at the moment, just incase any one thinks I am serious.

Who else posting on these boards are working at ATI?

Heh - that all... ;)

LOL, well, ATI is a big company (for graphics) spread across multiple sites. The only folk I know are in within my circle of communication. I wouldn't know if people from the other remote sites post. I do know that there are ton of other folk that lurk these forums.

So, what's the real count, since you have access to the IP logs. :)
