New Capcom studio dedicated to GCN game develoment.

Am I the only one who thinks that Killer 7's graphical style looks f-ugly?

I've never been a big fan of cell shading, and that particular style of cel shading just looks like an eyesore. Gives me a headache just to look at the screenshots. Although at least its better than Viewtiful Joe, I actually thought that was a GBA game when I saw the screenies. At least ToeJam and Earl 3 has some company in the "games on next-gen consoles that look like N64 or PS1 games" category.

I think that the terms of exclusivity will become much clearer as they approach release. Given that Gamecube is the lead development platform for these games, I believe that NCL will be the ones who decide if these games are exclusive or not.
Q- IGN is one of the most reliable sites on the net. I've always found their reports to be as close or closer to the truth than others. They report rumors because that's what excites readers, but they Rarely misinterpret information.

Dmain79, I'm pretty sure you're joking, but to make sure, SC2 is System 246 (PS2) ;)

btw, what exactly are the stats on the System 246? I've looked around but couldn't find anything.

It's pretty much a PS2 spec'd board. AFAIK there's like 12-16 games on it currently.

Tri-Force is interesting though as it has twice the RAM that the GCN has, so it makes porting to home units somewhat more tricky...

Wow, so essentially arcade SC2 == home console SC2? (minus the monitor)

If that's the case, I'm impressed!

Yes, should be arcade perfect... (I personally dig Starblade 2 myself)

The interesting thing is that System 246 and Sega's CHIHIRO are pretty much the only console derived boards that remained relatively untouched from the home spec. Of course 246 has enjoyed more success than CHIHIRO, and with Xbox's lack of sales in Japan, I wonder if Sega is going to devote more efforts towards Tri-Force instead of CHIHIRO...

just look at the videos, you have to see games in motion if you want to judge their graphics.

Doesn't the 246 have 96 MB of ram?

Nope, it's 32MB... Of course there were always rumours about a Super System 246 (128MB, I-32 GS, etc...), but those never amounted to anything...

Just like having Link in SC2 and SC2 being made on the Triforce right??

Um... huh?

Well, the SoulEdge/Blade and SoulCalibur character Siegfried's voice-overs were done by the same person who did Adult Link in OoT... but Link in SC2? I really SERIOUSLY doubt it. Doesn't even make sense, either... he'd basically be Siegfried with a smaller sword and no armour. Also Link has ZERO connection to the Soul Sword...

A few more screenshots of RE4. Notice the simulation of different fabric materials in the clothing, straps, fur, etc.

If those RE4 images are realtime and not touched-up, well... That's just unbelievable! Who needs DOOM3 with it's palette of grey and brown? :)

Killer 7 looks wonderful too. In a time when art direction literally seems to be a lost art, this is is a breath of fresh air.

Not sure what to think of that weird beat-em-up or the Panzer Dragoon clone. Anime game looks nice though, but could be corny if not executed well. Things look good for the cube with these titles in the pipe. Now, where's that darn Metal Gear game then? :)

*G*

Yeah, you gotta see Viewtiful Joe in action to understand the appeal. It looks very very good artistically..

Awesome looking cel-shading and solid 2D sprites. The gameplay looks tight too.
