Naomi 3 leaked specs?

Well, it seems that I am the 1st to post this on b3d. I just hope it's not fake.

It seems that Sega-Sammy had an info leak, regarding their new arcade platform. The specs are:

Dual Core Renesas SH-6 processor running at 2GHz Risc each
PowerVR Series 5 GPU featuring 24 pixel pipelines running at 800 Mhz
2 GB RAM for CPU
512 MB of RAM for GPU
64 MB of Ram for Sound
Yamaha 256 3D channels, dolby 7.1 Sound chip
60GB HDD
Broadband
Rom based media (DVD optional)

I just felt that given the ongoing excitement about Naomi 3 (and all PVR5-related :) ) I should post this.

24 pipelines @ 800 MHz

Anyone who re-posts this crap should have his bottom spanked - and not in a pleasant way. It's just the usual BS of taking a big number and inflating it a bit to get the "new spec". So the X800 has 16 pipes - ergo Naomi3 has to have 24. That it doesn't make any sense is never considered; PowerVR is all about doing more with less, not going overboard and blowing the competition out of the water with raw numbers and high-end specs.

So, 1 spanking scheduled for you, Giga. Grit your teeth and take it like a man!

Guden:

The purpose of the post was, primarily, not to let the speculation die

Seriously, though, the "do more with less" philosophy can only give you K6-2/3 or Kyro... The 24-pipe 800-MHz part could be ImgTec's Athlon and really make them a player in the gfx race. Or would you prefer them go the Cyrix way? :p

*yyaaawwnn*

Giga, problem with your speculation is it's been fabricated by some internet geek/fanboii/troll.

It's not worth discussing because it's all fake.

Edit: corrupted spelling... WHy the heck is the word "fan boy" (minus whitespace) censored when no swearwords or such are? Immensely weird.

I don't believe this for 1 second .

The reasoning being is that if video lodgic (imgtec ) was able to make a 24x 1@800 mhz video card that would be 24x800= 19200x 2.5 (over draw) 4800

compared to the r420 at 500mhz 16x500= 8000 .

even if they could only clock the home gpu to 400mhz it would still blow away anything from ati and nvidia and i would see them having no problem getting a partner to release this part in the computer section.

That is why i feel this is bs .

I would expect a 8x1 at 600-700mhz to be more likely .
