Ehh.. why hasn't anybody made a topic of this yet, I think it was launched today.
Uh, I have a feeling this topic is gonna go down down down on the topic list quite soon :D
...actually, now I feel quite ashamed to be from the country that brought n-gaga to the gaming world

I feel sorry for anyone who does.
I demoed one in Circuit City just this morning.. it is a horrible gaming device mixed with a horrible cellphone. it is good for neither..graphics arent bad, the games leave much to be desired, but my overall problem with it is the feel, it is just has such poor response.

I think it's rather nice actually. Mp3 player, mobile phone, gaming device, some quite limited applications,... Too bad there aren't much 'new' games, only ports of oldies.

oh i see... personally, i wouldnt touch that thing even with rubber gloves (like oh so many other things in nature)...

N-Gage is simply atrocious, it has so many faults that I wont even care to list them.
The first one that I noticed though, when I saw the first pictures back in December, was the keypad.
Why does every cell phone manufacturer think that they absolutely HAVE to include that forking keypad? Why not get a decent sized screen and two or three worthwhile buttons, and ditch those unusable small pinhead keys?
SMS messages could be typed at least as fast with a virtual keyboard or a touch sensitive screen.

I own it and I actually enjoy it . IT works good as a phone and plays games. The games are so so but hey its a 3d hand held system.

my, aren't you opinionated (for somebody who 'haven't touched it even through rubber gloves', was that it)?

i think the thing has a potential, although some indisputably dumb design decisions (like having to take the back lid off to be able to replace the game MMC) will seriously hamper the realisation of that potential ..seems nokia have a thing for devising overall good concepts and then screwing those with one or two showstoppers. the win3.1-like desktop (standard for the series60) is not particularly appealing to the prospective customers either.

btw, for those deprived of their rubber gloves

sorry i couldnt resist... come on this thing is a joke, u said it urself... just in different words..

I don't see the problem. Its all that the psp wants to be except for built in video play back. How anyone thinks the psp is going to be a huge leap foward from this I don't understand. Sure it will be better but its only launching na year from now. It wont blow this away.

As a phone this works well . Its much better than that t mobile phone that lets you play games and its priced at only a 100$ more than that. Oh I did not get it free. My friend got it free at some confrence for for ebx people. i traded a xbox and ps2 for it ;-)

I think the PSP will be better, but not much. after playing this puppy for about 10 minutes I wanted to ram hot pokers in my eyes, so that they would hurt less.. 3d gaming on a tiny screen=pain
it reminded me of trying to play Castlevania COTM in poor lighting on the original GBA.. not that it was dark just hard to make out the little details you need to make out.

exactly my concerns about the ngage in general -- too much push for 3d given an inadequate screen. but the first developer who comes up with a 2D, multiplayer rpg will surely make some good money on this platform.

btw, check this series60 rgp out (albeit single player)

thats what should happen, I hope someone else thinks the same way you do. My fears are that it will all be 3d, notice how today everyone is too afraid to make 2d games on a 3d platform? which is why when they finally put out something like Contra:SS or Viewtiful Joe, its so brave you can't help but take notice.

I was at my local GameStop last night, about 5 minutes before closing trying to get yet another copy of Eternal Darkness ($15 a pop, best...gift...ever...).

Anyways, the register monkeys...err...I mean employees were having a rather sarcastic and hilarious look back at the n-cage launch, with them selling a grand total of 1 unit. I was actually shocked that they all began to question that consumer's mental state, but we laughed, we cried. A good time was had by all.

If Nokia mangaed to sell an avg. of 1-3 units at every GameStop in the country, is that a success? It does cost $299 which is probably holding it back. I know alot of casual gamers that would actually like this thing if its was cheaper (in the $199 range). I do not personally know any serious, hardcore gamer that cares about this thing, but thats not who Nokia is going after (in fact Nokia made fun of them the other day, which pissed off the PA duo to no extent).
